SOURCE: Toner Cartridge & Drum Stuck-Can't get it out!
I have found that the latch on the left side that swings down and up with the door opening and closing comes off or unhooked. Make sure it is pulled down. Then it will allow the cartridge and drum to come free. Hope this helps.

Brother Drum Reset Instructions
The Drum LED continues to blink if the drum counter was not reset when you replaced the drum. To reset the drum follow the instructions below:
Press the cover release button and then open the front cover of the printer.
Press and hold down Go button until all 4 LEDs are lit. Once all 4 LEDs are lit, release the Go button.
Close the front cover.
Make sure that the Drum LED is now off.
Reset the drum counter only when you replaced the drum unit with a new one.

I have the same problems with you guys, and none of the solutions above work.
I solved Brother HL-2040 with the following tricks
1. Use the link below to process steps 1-4 and stop.
http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/us/us/en/faq/faq/000000/002500/000017/faq002517_001.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=hl2040_all&Cat=11
2. Use screw driver to remove 3 screws on one side of the toner
3. From the small separate part after removed it from the toner, there is a small white adjustment (plastic), use your finger adjust to the opposite side. Put it back to the toner, and screw them back as original.
4. Follow the remain steps from the link above,
Your toner indicator should be turn OFF

SOURCE: TONER LIGHT STAYS ON WITH NEW TONER CARTRIDGE
Hi,
If the main problem is just the toner light on then what you could do after installing the new toner is resetting the printer. You could do that by powering the printer off, open the front cover (as if you were to replace the toner) with the front cover open and the printer off push and hold the two buttons on the printer and turn the printer on while holding down the buttons then once the bottom light stays on solid, release the two buttons and that should reset the printer.
Now if the toner light is blinking that means that you have reached the 30,000 page mark and the Photoconductor needs to be replaced. If that is not the case you can follow this link to a procedure where it will explain how to reset the Photoconductor. http://bit.ly/91SWS3

sounds like a brother printer. If so you need to reset the toner on the printer. tell it it has a new toner. look up the users guide for the make and model of your printer. Just tpye in the maker (brother for instance) and the model. say maybe a mfc 8660.. and then the words users guide or service manual.
