I also have my audio not in sync with the easy cap video. It does not matter, if I use the internal microphone or the audio in of the Easy Cap stick. With different recording tool audio stays out of sync.

Same problem for me using Easycap. At the start of recording from VHS everything is ok, but pretty quickly the audio starts to show before the video, which increases throughout the recording until they are totally out of sync. Same problem for me. When recording from VHS using Easycap things are fine for a few minutes, but quickly the audio starts to appear before the video, which gets worse as the recording continues until they are completely out of sync. You may want to put the audio into the microphone-in of your laptop and make menu selections for audio via that line-in port when recording. I found as well that the audio sync was out of whack when trying to have it go with the video through the EasyCap..
Thnx for the solution JohnJN. The audio is now in sync. Was looking for this solution for a long time. I hooked up my gamecube, and start trying to play Zelda Twilight Princess. Normaly i had to reboot the media player classic after about 20 minutes because the audio was realy bad out of sync then, but now, i played the whole night long, and no problems!! Thnx for the solution, i ow you big time!
I got a idee for myself. Try the import port of your sound divece (normaly lightblue) with some connectors. I got surround sound after some modification of the Johnjn idee! (4.1).
If the Audio seems correct at the start, but gradually gets more out of sync as the job progresses, it might be that the frame rate is not correct, and as a result, the video is ending before/after the audio.

In my experience with the Easycap software the quality of sound & vision is very poor. My recommendation is as follows:
1) Use windows movie maker instead to capture video.Use the 2M byte/sec capture rate. Make sure the box for "make video clips" is NOT selected - you probably don't want your vid chopped into little bits.
2) In my experience USB audio is rubbish on these devices, so instead connect your PC or laptop audio LINE IN to your sound source. Don't forget to set sound source in RECORDING section of Control Panel Sound devices to Line In instead of your Easycap (which the Easycap drivers would have preset it to by default).
Good Luck.
Hi, You need to buy USB 2.0 Video Capture Adapter Card to do this action.. Pls visit the URL below as an example.. Hope this helps! Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and give me 4 Thumbs Up for me to continue for Helping out the Community :) Thanks
It's either something to do with your PC sound settings. Maybe the recording level for sound is set to low or switched off. Or it's in the Easycap software where the audio is switched off.
I had exactly the same problem and solved it by updating the drivers for the USB sound/audio device.
My XP version is in Swedish so I´m not sure what it says in English, but it should say something like the following.
Go to the "Device manager" by right clicking on "This computer" and choosing "Properties", locate the "USB sound/audio device" under the "Sound, Video and Game"-category and right click and chose "Update drivers". Then chose "Search for drivers on the internet" and chose "Recommended installation". My new drivers are called "USB EMP Audio Device". They work perfectly.
I wasn´t able to update the actual EasyCap video adapter, but it doesn´t seem to matter if you´re having problems with the sound. Although I can´t use an S-videocable, only a videocable, otherwise the picture turns black and white.
Audio is out of sync with the video
