You may have to call AT&T to give the sim card number IMEI number to them to activate it for the Alcatel. They switch over your minutes and if the sim fits you haven't lost your contacts or pics so thats great. AT&T will also send a sim if that one won't work in the phone.

Thats a cool phone, pity its screen is broken.... Here is my suggestion

  • If you got keypad lock then unlock the phone
  • Go to menu usually by pressing the top right key...
  • Press 8, which should take you to contacts
  • Press the top right key which would take you to More
  • Press up using the joystick, this should highlight Options
  • Then press the middle of joystick, which would take you into options
  • Press up using the joystick again, this should highlight Advanced
  • Press 5 to backup the contacts to memory card or press 8 to back up your contacts to SIM
Check the memory card or Sim on another phone...

its really simple.call your provider and ask for puk code.its normally free of charge.mostly its also available on providers website.go in help section and click on unlock my fone if its there.if not, call em and they will give you the code defo.

th sim card needs to be unlocked or its not compatable with the phones you putting them into.

1. unlcok the sim card by calling your provider
2. the phones needs the unlock code as well.

you either have to do a factory reset on the phone or the previous owner of the phone (assuming there was one) has to release the phone or request a bill by calling nextel

  1. After downloading the unlock application on your device. (Alcatel One Touch unlock code generator)
  2. Then fill in the Alcatel One Touch form. The most crucial piece of information at this point is the IMEI number of your Alcatel One Touch. The IMEI code identifies your Alcatel mobile device among all the other Alcatel devices from the same model. Write the correct IMEI code. You must enter a valid email address where you will get you to unlock Alcatel One Touch code.
  3. Click on the unlock button when you fill in all information about your locked cell device.
  4. You will find the unlock code for your Alcatel One Touch in an email you will receive during this process.
  5. To be able to insert the unlock Alcatel One Touch code in your device and unlock it, you must insert a SIM card from a different network provider than the one you used so far. The new SIM card will instantly be recognized as unauthorized by the lock software in your phone and you will be asked for the unlock code to authorize the presence of the new SIM card. Here you enter the unlock code and you click on OK to successfully terminate the SIM lock on the Alcatel One Touch you own.
  6. Now your phone can accept any SIM card from all the carriers on the globe. There are around 750 different carriers and now you can choose from all of those. To be able to use the data connection of your new carrier you are going to need to insert the APN settings of the carrier you will use from now on. You will get the settings in no time. To replace the old APN settings with the new ones you need to go in the Settings menu, click Mobile Network, then click Access Point Names. Here you must click the New APN option and save the new APN settings. Put your phone in airplane mode for about ten seconds and once you turn this option off you will be able to use the data connection of your new carrier.
  7. Unplug your Alcatel One Touch, remove the battery-cell out, put it back in and turn the telephone ON once again.
That is all, your current Alcatel is unlocked, you can use all SIM card in your mobile from any network all over the world! Not to mention the advantage of improved and higher value in case you intend on selling it, besides having the ability to use your Alcatel with any network.

Hi , If you've changed service providers then you'll need to ring your new service provider and tell them you'd still like to use your old cell phone number BUT if you're putting your sim card into a new or different cell phone make sure that cell phone isn't locked to a different service provider than your sim cards provider, I hope this helped...
