I have a Krups GVX1 burr coffe grinder. The grinder slowed and stopped grinding despite the fact the list was on indicating it was getting power and all of the safety switches were properly depressed. The Krups site states that if the unit get too hot a thermal fuse may blow. How do i get that fuse?

You will have to disassenble the grinder by removing the screws from the bottom of the grinder. You should be able to get to the thermal fuse once you gain access to the insides.

Well worth attempting the repair if you have the replacement thermal fuse needed and can handle a soldering iron to unsolder and soldering needed to remove and replace the failed part.

The thermal fuse isn't like a normal glass tube automotive fuse, but you should be able to get a replacement one from Radio Shack, if you can't get one from the manufacturer.

Hope this helps you get it fixed and best regards!

Pull out the lever on the side, then just cut out the blown fuse and solder the wire together. Do not grind too much at one time. 1-2 cups of beans at one sitting. I blew the fuse while grinding one 12oz. bag all at once.

Krups gvx1 complete disassembly

If you can't figure out how to diss-assemble the device yourself, I recommend that you take it to a proper service shop, making sure you call a few of them in your area and find out if they charge for inspection and estimates of repair, then see which one has the best estimate.

Empty the grinder and see if it will run with no coffee bean in it. Some times debris will get caught in the grinder because it got mixed with the beans from the factory. If it runs your good to go. If not then the mother connection are not solid and it will run off and on at will.

Not fine enough grind

This model grinder won't do espresso. There is a DIY mod available online that involves disassembling the machine, and recalibrating the burrs to produce a finer grind. I did it on mine, it was definitely better, but it's not going to get you to the coveted 30 second pull for your espresso. Search on Starbucks Barista Grinder Mod. It is a great grinder otherwise, very reliable.

Grinder starts up but wont grind..nothing happens. one week old

I think this might be because no beans have gone down into the mill. There is a definite difference in sound when it is actually grinding beans. Try emptying the beans out, set it to the coarsest setting, put the beans back in, shake the thing a bit then turn it on.

GVX2 krups coffee grinder; how to open it?

I have the same issue. You need to take both dials off, then on the bottom, there are 4 tabs on the inside. Seperate the halves and you will see them. Towards the front and halfway back. Pry the halves apart enough to push the top towards the bottom and it slides apart pretty easy. The tricky part now is finding the replacement part. I have super glued my switch and I want to do something to try and repair it further. Maybe epoxy. I called Krups and they can't sell the part to me. I called one of their service centers and they can't sell the part to me. So, if someone knows where to get the part, I am all ears :)

Fill out water

The Krups Burr Grinder GVX2 featured in the picture is not a coffee maker, per se, it only grind coffee beans to use in other coffee makers. It is a lousy machine, and I would recommend returning it or not buying it.
DO NOT PUT WATER INTO THIS MACHINE. It will cause electric shock.

Does not turn on!

With the top sensor- I found with mine the pin was missing that actuated the top cover switch in th fill area right side you'll see a small pin hole. All I did was remove the side cover and jump out the switch via solder connection. The side cover has (4) click locks on the bottom that hold it on then it slides up and off. I know its a safety switch but it was more of a pain than a help.
