I need help with my Lenovo Edge2 2-in-1. I went to close it the other day and heard a small pop. The screen would move any further, backwards or frontwards. The hinge seems to be slightly crooked now, and when I do try to open/close the lid... it splits away from the screen. Not sure what happened. I am very careful with all of my electronics and have no dropped it and always keep it in a padded laptop bag when not in use.

Hello, I sorry that happened, is it a mechanic issue, so maybe you need help from Lenovo support ( if have guaranty, much better) or see another honest mechanic. https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/partslookup/?menu-id=Replacement_Parts&linkTrack=PartSales_Masthead

SOURCE: HP Pavilion dv5000 screen black - related to broken hinge?

The ribbon that connects the lcd to the laptop circut runs through the hinged area, so when you moved it, the connector came out. Unless you feel confident in taking the frame off and replacing the connector it may be time to get it fixed if you have a warantee left from HP, if you want to try it yourself there are pictures on the site that you can look at, I can give youa link for them or you can just look up your Hp repair manual from the vast knowledge base on file

Your lcd cable has a short. You just need to replace it. Every laptop is pretty much the same.

Here's a general guide for what to expect.

I heard a popping sound and the tv screen went blank. Can you help?

The noise you've heard is more likely from the bulb blowing up. I would suggest to remove the lamp and visually inspect it.
Have you replaced the lamp on this DLP before?
Download the user's guide from this link and see page # 24 and 25 for more info about the lamp part number and how to replace it.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

The odds are one of the capacitors popped. Look around the circuit boards for this bad capacitor. It should be deformed and stick out like a sore thumb. Radio Shack or some local electronic supply place should carry replacements.

Most likely the high voltage transformer took a dive. If the picture was still good before it went out it is probably worth a check out fee. Another possibility is that there was a loose solder joint developing and moving the set around helped the loose joint come completely undone. Thanks

Vizio tv first screen had bluish discoloration and than few days later a pop and screen went black .ANY IDEA OR SUGGESTION all of the sudden started experiencing severe discoloration

This is called the pop of death! If you call vizio they will ask you if you heard a pop, this is a common issue and unless your under warrenty your looking at 916$ to fix it. (assuming you have no sound! If you do its 430$ plus tax for parts and repair. You can buy a used one on ebay for that price!

I have the parts numbers if you want them!
Call vizio if you have had this system for under a yr the will fix it free!

As for me my 50 and 42 inch had this issue and well I am out of warrenty.. I hate vizio lol!

My screen went small how do i get it back to normal?

Sounds like the resoloution the monitor was designed to run at has kicked in.
If your running XP, then do this:
  • Right click anywhere on the desktop
  • Select Display Properties
  • A window will pop up
  • Select the last tab on the top of that window
  • There will be a slider, move it to the left and click apply
Hope that helps =)
