I have a SuperSonic SC-499 10" TV, my question is I connect a DVD player to the tv & there is no sound, just the picture playing & I pushed the remote it shows a small icon of headset on. How do I turn off the headset?

Use your TVs remote and select AV usisng the TV/AV button. Most DVD players use the AV Cables to connect to TVs.Yellow Video Out to Video IN of TV, REd and White Audio Left and Right to Audio L and Audio R IN of TV.

What kind of cables are you using to hook up the DVD to the TV? Are they they composite, component, or S-Video? What are the connectors you're plugging both ends of the cables into labeled? Are you plugging the audio cables into the TV or directly into the sound system?

This depends on whether you have digital cable box or not. If you have a Digi Cable Box look for the red/white RCA output and connect this via RCA cable to the Red/White Audio input on your surround.

If just Basic Cable look for a red/white audio output on the back of your televison. connect this to the Red/white in on your surround. Could be called tv in or auxillary.
