Has turned off on its own several times in the past. Have always been able to turn back on with remote. Turned off last night and unable to power up. Acts as if it is getting no power. I've checked outlet, cord, and fuse.
Have you taken the back off and tested the fuse on the power board?

Call sharp back again and tell them you first want to register for aquos advantage program, which is free. By doing that your service will go much quicker with them. You then tell them that you want to get set up for service. They will have one of their authorized professionals come and fix your tv in a matter of days. If their tech cannot fix it, they will replace your tv free of charge as long as you are within your warranty.

hi I am Vortash .. burning smells usually mean Power supply or line output .. flyback problems .. this is probably one of those jobs only an engineer should look at .. voltages on the line can exceed 400 volts and are highly dangerous the line output from the transformer depending on the type of tube can be up to 25,000 volts .. so best leave this one to the proffesionals Regards Vortash

If power light continuously flashing it means backlight problem. Two possible causes. One, backlight invertor is faulty. Two, but realy rare, one of the CCFL lamps went bad.
