I went to the Sandisk website and they actually have a bunch of how-to videos on there that will help you out with your problem: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1459 As for getting your information back, you would need special recovery software in order to do that. Here is a link that might be able to help you with that: http://www.download.com/VirtualLab/3000-2248_4-10642058.html

SOURCE: Upgrade for settlers downloads but won't run
I had this issue as well. Download the patch directly from the website, and run it locally. Afterwards the updater won't find a newer patch, and goes directly to the game. I don't know whether this will break again once a new patch is released, but you should be able to manually install it again at that time. Patches can be found at http://www.ubi.com/US/default.aspx under support --> patches.
This link may take you directly to the right place.

This is a question you best address with D-Link directly. Go to their site and use their email to send them a query about your problem. They seem quite quick to respond with very helpful suggestions.
SOURCE: BD-HP21 cannot find update on my flash drive.
Let's start from the beginning again. Go ahead and reformat your usb device to fat 32 wiping everything. Next go to www.sharp.ca
Click on Service Support on the left and next click on downloads. Select Bluray, next and then your model number, done.
Then save the firmware directly to your usb device.
If the usb device is larger than 4GB it might not work.
If the download still does not work try formatting the usb device again this time to fat and then dowloading again.
You may need to reset the bluray player. Hold down the power button on the front of the unit until it says reset. Then put the usb device into the player before turning it back on. Press setup-->settings--->software update.
