If the player has no traction, it can stop like when the tape gets to the end. The unit must be taken apart, removing the upper cover, to inspect and of tape sensor, that is a plastic tab , and to check if there is anything stuck in the mechanics, and eventually clean the traction wheels.

I have a Panasonic omnimovie Pv-610 and only one of my vhs tapes plays in fast forward mode, how can I fix?

If you mean just the one and the rest then it was probably recorded in Extended Play mode and nothing can be done.
Otherwise please explain your issues in more detail.

VHS Tape Suddenly plays in fast forward, can this be fixed?

Hi.
Why is my VHS tape playing fast?"); display: inline-block; height: 24px; width: 24px; margin-top: -1px; transform: rotateZ(-180deg);"> If you have a VHS video tape that's playing too quickly then it's very likely that the player you are using does not support either LP or SLP. SLP capable video players should automatically detect the mode and adjust automatically.

The DVD part of the machine keeps skipping and now just won't play any DVD's.

I push the VHS Cartridge in, it drops down to the play position, the front door opens, the tape comes out, it goes around the chrome wheel that is spinning, but it will not play, will not rewind, will not fast forward. It then shows "Error" and the machine shuts off, with the tape still around the chrome wheel, When I turn the machine back on, the VHS Cartridge ejects from the machine. This machine has been used very little, I loaned it to my Son In Law and it came back with the VHS Tape Deck not playing. I have the machine open, so I can see what it is doing.

VHS tape was playing . After stoping does not play. Other tape will play

The idler wheel (that only drives the tape in play or scan modes) is slipping too much (very common problem). Try verify this by putting the tape in play then immediately press the fast fwd or rewind buttons to scan the tape. On older machines, the idlers used rubber friction tires - on newer ones, a clutch. Either replace the tire or increase the spring tension on the clutch.

VHS player stops after 5 seconds

Hi, Based on your post/description, sounds like a mechanical problem with the take-up spool. As this would involve mechanical diagnosis and repairs, your best bet may be to seek the services of a qualified professional. Should you want to venture do-it-yourself, you need to remove the top cover and expose the inner mechanism of the VHS tape player. Of course the usual safety precautions when working with electrically powered devices. Once the inside mechanism is exposed, you will notice that there are 2 spools where the tape would be sitting when fully loaded. The right side is the take-up spool responsible for winding the tape when played or fast-forwarded. When fast forwarding during stop-mode it is direct gear driven however during play and fast-play, the take-up spool is driven by a clutch sandwiched between the top portion and the bottom wider portion. You need to disassemble the take-up spool. It may be held in place by hard press, force-fit, lock or retaining clip. Normally there is a spring near the top. Upon disassembly, you will notice the clutch which is a white fabric/cloth/cotton appearance. This has to be replaced. Probably available in eBay. In my location, such spare part is not readily available and we have to make do with work-around (not necessarily technically right but as long as it works and for your info only). Things we try:, Stretch the spring, the idea is to put more pressure on the clutch when assembled back; roughen the contact portion where the clutch mates with the spool assembly; worst case scenario, forget the clutch, dab a drop of rubber adhesive on both sides of the clutch. In certain models/versions, it is possible that a slipping belt is causing the problem. In some instances, it could be the driving motor. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

Can't fast forward the tape

For Models: CC6254, CC6364, CC6374, CC6384, CC6394 The Counter Memory function, which makes it easier to locate a specific tape segment, has been activated. To disable, press COUNTER R/M for less than one second until M disappears. The tape may also stop because it has reached the beginning or end of the tape, depending of course on whether you are fast-forwarding or rewinding.
