It sounds like an issue with your adobe acrobat reader, but a little more clarification is needed. Does the PDF open in acrobat reader, or can you not even open them? (ie - are you right clicking the file then clicking print) If attempting to print from adobe reader, is that when it's saying you have no printer? Please be very specific, and reply to this post using the reply link please.
This most often caused by a postscript error or insufficient memory in the printer. You could try too see what happens if you instruct acrobat reader to print as image. This setting is usually found in the printer selection screen under advanced options. Note this setting is available for windows, for apple I'm not sure this option exists.
ok when we print a pdf file, a pdf software has a printer engine which decode the file for printer, but when there is a bug it print in either unreadable font or it does not print.
there is a patch available for that on microsoft,
update your window to latest,
download the latest acrobat reader,

Trouble with the HP Laserjet printed output may be solved by using the following settings (or similarly named ones):
"Use raster Graphics" (instead of "Use vector graphics"). This may fix the problem of "reversed" text (white on black background) not printing, as well as other problems.
"Download TrueType Fonts as bitmap soft fonts" (select "bitmap" instead of "outline" or "graphics"). This may remove the overlapping of text on the printed document.
"Graphics dithering" select "coarse" or "fine" (instead of "none"). This selection may improve the quality of images contained in the document. You can find all these settings in your printer properties. Go to File, Print, click Preferences, in Printing Preferences, click one by one all the top options, and change one of the top solutions, one at the time, checking your printing output.
Always check if you have the latest version of Adobe Reader Program. If not download the latest version from Adobe, it's free.
Is this the first time that you have the problem? or with the same printer (HP 4si), did you were able to print PDF files in the past?
