SOURCE: millermatic 200 won't weld

first check on the plate that tells imfo of unit ,there is what is called duty cycle. If the duty cycle says per say 30%,that means you can weld full power for 3 minuets before unit will shut down to cool.if it says 100% duty cycle there is no limit on weld time.this is the first thing to understand,if that is not the case check the main contactor where the power imput wires go,pull the gun trigger see if the contactor is pulling in , it should if not no welding amperage.

SOURCE: I have a millermatic 130 that will not feed wire

There can be a few different reasons for it, but here are the top ones.

1. Remove the nozzle from the trigger end and remove tip and defuser. If you can. Some models the defuser is part of the gun.

2. make sure the lead is as straight as you can get it.

3. Check to make sure the tension is tight enough for the wire.

4. Make sure the spool tension is not to tight.

5. If all the above steps have been followed to no success, look into buying a new liner for the lead. When removing the liner check it for any major kinks or bends. Sometimes you may not have any but you can find a real flimsy spot by inspecting the liner and this can often cause a mis feed.

SOURCE: Wire Speed Increases when voltage increases

What is it doing? stabbing the wire into the work? The voltage is too low for the speed of the wire feed.. Turn up your voltage and slow down the wire. then increase your wire according to the speed of travel of weld. That is an awesome machine but it is still up to you to get the settings dialed in. Good Luck, Ned.

SOURCE: millermatic 140 w/ auto set powers on but will not

If its a new unit its probably nothing. Miller makes good stuff. Open the side so you can see the spool. With the machine on, press the trigger for a second. Did the little wheel spin (trying to feed the wire) if it did then your problem could be kinked wire, **** on tip, or spring on small spool is loose and wire is slipping. Let me know.

New welder, only fed wire a couple times now it wont work

the noise you hear is the relay for the wire feed,it means that your tension on the wire needs to be set, tighten it if it is too loose and loosen it if the roller on the feed is moving but the wire is not, also, make sure the wire moves easily in the handle, always keep your cords straight so they dont bind.

Our MillerMatic 175 wire feed cannot be adjusted down enough. The rheostat seems to function, but even the lowest setting is now way too fast.

Your Millermatic 175 has syncronize wire speed-voltage feature in order to reduce the wire speed first reduce your heat (voltage). Try again.

If this was useful to you please vote. thanks.

I HAVE A MILLER CRICKET THAT SOMETIMES WHEN TACKING FEEDS WIRE AND WON'T STOP UNLESS YOU UNPLUG THE WELDER.AND WHEN WELDING ON A HOTTER HEAR RANGE IT STICKS AND WON'T FEED WIRE FOR ABOUT 15 SECONDS.I TOOK...

Good eye. Yes that relay is CR1. It controls power to the main transformer, power to the feed motor, as well as providing a brake for the motor when the trigger is released. CR1 is controlled by the gun trigger. The contacts in CR1 will burn (the arcing you seen in the relay) and cause the problem you mentioned. The part number for the relay is #120706. All this is for the 70 amp model. The 90 amp model has a second relay with a small PC Board. It is a little bit more complicated and more could be the problem. I am enclosing the manual for the Cricket. It includes both the 70 amp and the 90 amp models. If you have the 90 amp model, the repair will be different and will require more advanced troubleshooting. Also. there are two other models for the cricket, the 200 and the XL, both having different parts. Now having said all, if you feel confident , the actual repair is not complicated but you have to understand there is a potential for shocking due to high voltage.. If you are going to do the repair yourself, make sure the welder is unplugged and that no one will be able to plug it in while you are working on it. You will have to check with a Miller distributor for pricing and availability. https://www.millerwelds.com/files/owners-manuals/O1307_MIL.pdf

Millermatic 200 wont feed wire

sounds like a loose or bad connection, resolder the soldered joint, these do hide hidden problems. The "blue things" might be capacitors, be ever so carefull if you remove them or you will get an awfull shock, an electrician will have the equipment to test these out, play it safe,

Millermatic 200 will not weld

1 - Check the ground connection to the work, including the actual cable to clamp connection.

2 - Make sure that the wire feed rollers are nice and clean. The wire needs to be clean too.

3 - Check that the polarity changing wire connections are nice and tight, clean, etc.

4 - change and or service the contact tip at the end of the gun.

as always, gently clean out the loose junk inside the case. A clean welder is a happy welder. :-)
