OP you posted with no proper name of "account'
    if bank say there name.
if some other entity say there name like amazon or steam of utilities,or ,or

my guess is sharing email handles
    is very very bad.
the system will think it's being hacked.
do not share email. there is no need to
    email is free,so.. use it.

My husband would like to use my account

Your husband should open up his own account providing his email address. That way, when a volunteer responds, your husband would receive a notification of the response in his email account. If he is using your account, only you receive the response notification in your email. You would have to monitor your email for the response for your husband. If he signs up for Fixya with his user name, password, and email address, he will get the notifications in his emails. It is seldom a good idea for individuals to share one email account if for no other reason than it becomes more difficult to sort through mail if you have to go back and find something later. It is just not the same as having one account for a business.

I dont know my password because my husband set up my acct and refuses to give me my own password, he has the reset set to go to his cell sms # and his email acct, and I dont have his email address either

The simple thing to do is for you to set up your OWN email account using Yahoo or GMail or HotMail or one of several other online email services that offer free email accounts. Then you'll have total control over your own email account.

Please don't post your phone number or email address here - you never know who might get hold of it and send you mountains of SPAM email or inappropriate phone calls or text messages.

Hello and Welcome to Fixya!

If you are trying to open your mails but your husband account is opening then it means your husband has keep his mail account as "Keep Signed in". To open your account first you have to "Sign Out" your husband account. Sign out option is at the top right corner of the mail page. After sign out your husband account enter your email and password and sign in your account and open the mail of request code sent by Facebook. Your problem will be solved.

L can no longer send or receive emails

Gonna need some more data to go on than that.

In general here's some things to check.

First off, shutdown your computer... only need a few seconds.. then boot it back up. This tends to fix a majority of issues, especially if you go long periods without doing so.

Are you connected to the internet. I know that may sound like a dumb question but does your browser still open up pages? Hit reload/refresh and make sure it's not calling a page from your cache on the hard drive, that will make it connect to the website for a new page... or call up a page you haven't looked at in a while...

Once you're sure you're connected to the internet, and you can send/receive the browser data, then we have narrowed down where the problem could lie.

Can you use the browser to check your email online? i.e. webmail.earthlink.net, or www.gmail.com or etc. If you can log into your account online, then we have eliminated account problems.

If you can access your email account online, then check the settings in your email account and make sure you have POP enabled so that you can get your email via your computer program. Some email services, like gmail for example, require you to enable POP or remote download to an email program isn't allowed.

If you were using your email program previously just fine, and now it's not working, what are the errors message(s)? This should lead you in the right direction. If it's giving you a "bad password" message, then you might have to enter it in again in preferences or account information in your email program.

If you're having something of a connection error, even though you didn't intend to make an account change, you should check the settings for your email service and compare to your account setup for your email program. Something like:

Account name/Login name:
Password:
POP server: pop.earthlink.net (this is for incoming email)
SMTP server: smtpauth.earthlink.net (this is your outgoing email)
(there might be a port number too, but usually it's already the default)

Sometimes it looks alright but just changing something, even if you're just typing in what's already there, will update the file and you can connect alright now. Worth a try if you've come this far with no results.

Are you connecting via WiFi or using a cell/modem connection? Make sure that is working... although you've probably already looked at that. Try to click "disconnect" and then reconnect and see if you can get through.

Good luck!!

I am not able to use paypal because my husband and I share the same e mail?

If your husband has already signed up for a PayPal account with that email address you will not be able to sign up a second account. You could either ask him for the PayPal; account password then add your account details to the PayPal account this would mean you would be sharing the PayPal account but be able to choice which account the purchase should go off when you make a purchase. The other option is you could make another email address for yourself and then sign up with that email address. You can get a free email account at www.gmail.com or www.yahoo.com. The last option is you could simply go to PayPal and say you forgot your password this would then ask you your email address put in the email address that you and your husband share and PayPal will send you a confirmation of the change of password to the email. Go to your email address and verify the action from the email they sent you. This will send you to a page where you can change the password to a new one. Affectively this will allow you to take over your husbands account.

you can't use one email account to make two facebook accounts. It's one of their policy for security purposes as well. You can just create one email account from ,yahoo, gmail, hotmail or whaever accoutn you would like to sign up just for facebook account.

My husband opened a facebook account and I would like to also but whenever I type in my name it says there is already an account with that email address and won't let me go any further.

You will have to set up a secondary email account. I suspect that you are both sharing the email address in that you both get email there. Try something like Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc. It only takes a few minutes to set up the email account and then you can proceed with setting up your face book account.
