My American Standard # 3378513.020 does not flush. It seems to not have the pressure. It takes about 3 times to get it to flush which defeats the purpose. How do I fix this?

First, make sure the water feed to the tank is wide open, then make sure you have the inner workings set at maximum water level.

SOURCE: american standard toilet

I have the American Standard Champion 4 toilet. Water is leaking from the tank to the bowl causing the toilet to refill. I've replaced the flapper and cleaned the surface the flapper contact. Nothing seems to work.

SOURCE: have to flush 2 or 3 times to empty toilet bowl

hello, this is a standard toilet you will need to inspect the flapper that is the rubber flap that holds the water up in the tank it works when you pull the lever it pulls the chain upward and lets the water flow if this flapper is old it may not stay up long enough for the water to flow. open the tank top and flush the toilet see if this flapper is staying up long enough and giving the tank enough time to empty if not change this rubber flapper its inexpensive part.
if this is not the reason then you need to adjust your water filler valve there should be a small screw on top of the pivoting float arm
if you have to adjust it for the water limit line inside the tank this will be the proper amount of water needed to flush once completely

also check that the chain lenth on the pull lever is not pulling the flapper down quicker than its supposed to,

try this let me know your results
hope it helps

SOURCE: American Standard Champion toilet keeps running

Readjust the float. the longer it is the more leverage the fill water will have on it. good luck. The fill valve does come apart and cleaned if there is debri in it. Turn the water off first:)

SOURCE: My toilet does not flush properly. It seems to

You might check under the rim of the toilet, there are about 12 little holes that when you flush water comes out to start the most important part of the flush. The swrill, with out it hard to flush. Talk a piece of wire hanger ( I know "NO WIRE HANGERS") and use it to push up into the holes. Hard water deposits sometimes build up there.

Do you turn the screw to the left or right on a american standard toilet to adjust the water level in the toilet tank

Usually to the right will drop the float, deceasring the water level, left will increase the water level.

Toilet flushes 3 times when it is flushed.

take off top cover, and check flapper valve for proper seating when flushing.. could be that it is dirty (where it makes contact with tube of tank), and/or the chain length is too short (one link or two)

I just installed an american standard cadet 3.Home depot rated this toilet as a 10 for flush power. when I flush 1st off the flapper wont stay up on it own long enough to flush,2nd if I hold it open it is...

We have just recently purchased one of the American standard cadet at home depot from a discount flyer and had it for about a day and took it back.

Like you said, Did not notice Any thing like a strong flush.

RECOMENDATION:

Take it back.

Home Depot also sells a Kohler Toilet 1.6 Gallon Flush Install
This is all it said it was. It saves water for sure and has a quick flush.

We liked it so much we purchased two of them because everyone in the house only wanted to using our bathroom.

Hope this tip helps.
