SOURCE: Rheem water heater turns off by its self

Flashing code 76 is lost communication between the remote and the burner control assembly CCA (circuit card assembly). The CCA is still under warranty if purchased within the last 3 yrs. Contact Rheem customer service and have your Mod. and S/N available....explain to the agent you are recieving - flashing code 76...they'll walk you through the process.

SOURCE: My Rheem Pronto model#RTG-74PNV-1 has powered off

Remove power source from the unit. If remote control2.gif is installed; remove cover and lift the control wires on the terminal...can be accomplished from either end.

Restore power and see if unit functions normally.

Contact Paloma/Rheem customer (800-432-8373) support and notify them IF you are getting a code "76" error. Rheem has recently extended the warranty on the "Burner Control Assm."; which is your problem. The C4-C8 portion of the error code, is where the unit stops the ignition process...burner fails to light, or gives you intermittent hot water. In either case, contact customer support2.gif.

If this helps, please indicate so.

How to change from ºF to ºC on the UMC-117?

According to the 2012 manual, 'the LED display only shows F.'
Bottom page 65. Yet the F temperatures are also shown as C in the manual.
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/How-to-set-Rheem-tankless-temperature.pdf
You probably have different model, or older model?.?
Older manual (page 15) shows same temperature range with both F and C, but typical of Rheem, the manual is totally vague about settings and say that qualified tech needed to adjust temps beyond factory default range (with no mention of display showing C) ... which is safeguard since the damg product cannot always heat water fast enough to reach higher set points above 120F.

Call Rheem 800-432-8373 and give your product serial number and model number located on side of unit, and ask them.

Don't forget to keep the product maintained to avoid common error codes.

Thermostat model UMC 117 keeps coding C7 why?

Generally, C7 is communication problem with remote
Error codes are considered start point for troubleshoot.
Causes can be: Bad remote, bad wire to remote, loose wire connection at remote, loose wire connection at unit, bad PC board.
In no particular order:
Check wire connections.
Disconnect remote and let water heater control temperature at default 120 degrees F, and if no further problem develops, then that might eliminate PC board as source of problem.
Replace wire to remote.
Replace remote.
Call service technician to diagnose problem.
Contact Rheem about PC board and other options.

Before calling service technician, open following links for troubleshooting resources:

My umc-117 flashes 76 then -0 what causes it to do that?

76 is the controller error, check your wiring to it to make sure it is connected well , if it's not that the controller is shot , from there it could be the one of the control boards
