try a secondary battery as well as a second charger (I believe the pearl uses micro USB, which is also used by bluetooth headsets, other phones, and pcs- you could even plug it into a pc with the cable to see if it charges)
If neither works, the phone is unfortunately dead. However if the battery works, bad battery. If the different charger works, bad charger
go to www.blackberry.com and download the desktop manager for your phone and service provider and reinstall the software. if it is an unlocked phone you need to navigate to the common files/rim and delete the vender file first.
A hard reset involves physically removing the battery from the smartphone and then reinserting it. To perform a hard reset, complete the following steps:
1) Remove the battery cover from the back of the BlackBerry smartphone.
2) Remove the battery, and then reinsert it after a few seconds.
3) Replace the battery cover.
Still if it is not working the software of your Handheld might got corrupted, in this you need to reinstal the software or walk into the service center.
Thank you for using Fixya.
It looks battery completly drained and dead (as It took so much time), the best way first to check "Circuit" status in Battery through Voltmeter (poles)..or another way go to any cell phone shop and give a trial with another batterty to check status of your unit.
sometimes when battery becomes full discharged it takes time like hours to come up but over night charge will do it , if it dont check ur battery first if it is ok then ur set is dead there might be software issue seek help from support in ur country
the only thing that you can do with this issue is try wiping the software clean and reinstalling fresh software. You would need the blackberry desktop manager first installed on your home computer. If you dont have the cd the program is more then likely available on your mobile providers website. Once the program is downloaded and installed follow these directions
To perform this procedure, follow the steps below:
Remove the battery from the BlackBerry device.
Double-click Application Loader in BlackBerry Desktop Manager while the BlackBerry device is not connected to the computer.
Click Next on the Welcome to the Application Loader Wizard screen.
When the Communication Port Selection screen appears, connect the BlackBerry device.
When the USB-PIN option appears, click Next. The Device Application Selection screen should appear.
Re-insert the battery and allow the process to complete.
