SOURCE: Flushing knob on a C2 Theford cassette porta potti hard to turn

Hi! Spray blade which closes holding tank with silicone spray. Make sure spray goes under lip of sealing ring. Also spray around holding tank actuator knob allowing to penetrate underneath to shaft. Don't use a silicone grease as this will gum up the works. If you can't get hold of a light silicone spray try using household type silicone polish intended for furniture. Wipe off any surplus as only thin film required.

SOURCE: toilet trouble

Based on the phrasing of your question, I'm thinking that the bad noise happens for the first time when the valve opens to start filling (this happens when you first let water into the bowl) and then again when the valve closes (when the cistern is full). Valves sometimes have a high-pitched squealing noise when it takes a long time to open or close this valve. Sometimes, you can make it go away by turning the screw to adjust the height that the ball/float has to be in order to shut off the water (the more horizontal, the longer it takes to shut off the flow, and the longer the noise continues). Sometimes, this is just caused by an aging mechanism and it turns out to be quicker and easier to just replace that part of the toilet (they make replacement kits that are very inexpensive and easy to install).

FIXING A TOILET THAT WILL NOT FLUSH!!! a simple but very effective money saving...

This simple how to, is based upon most lever operated toilets, with the cistern mounted above the toilet bowl. The make and model of toilet used for this feature is of the following:
Toilet and internal syphon
DUDLEY ELITEDudley S7 Cascade syphon
Problem:
My toilet will not flush, but the ball float valve is working and there is water in the cistern; no leaks present and the flushing lever is not broken or disconnected, what do I do?
Answer:
first isolate the water to the toilet or the main water supply to the house. Bail out the water from the cistern using a small jug or cup, (or you can syphon the water manually using a hosepipe or similar pipe, a towel to cover your mouth, and either a bucket or the toilet bowl) and remove water from the bottom of the cistern with a sponge.

Changing the syphon in a toilet that is not close coupled is far easier as you do not need to remove the cistern from the wall!

Undo the lower of the two large nuts beneath the cistern using a large pipe wrench or pair of water pump pliers, now disconnect the flush pipe and push it to one side.
Place a bucket or bowl beneath the cistern and undo the Nut which is immediately below the cistern (syphon replacing nut), some water may be released by the syphon, take note of any washers that are removed as new ones need fitting when replacing the siphon.
Unhook the lift rod from the flushing lever and remove the syphon.

Inside the toilet syphon, there will be a small plastic piece of sheet called a diaphragm; you can fabricate a replacement using the plastic title cover on a DVD case. Cut this to the exact same size and shape as the original part, and fit this to where the original diaphragm was. This is your new replacement.

Refitting is a complete reversal of removal, be sure to fit any washers (preferably new ones) that you have taken out. Ensure everything is tight but do not over tighten before refilling the cistern

Where is fuse for thetford toilet cassette

This is quite difficult and fiddly. The fuse unit is situated above where the cassette gets inserted. Remove the cassette and at the top front left hand side you will see the wiring in the cavity. This will give you access to the fuse unit and reed switch. I am assuming the toilet won't flush. If this is the problem then the answer is above. If the problem is the light will not illuminate when full then it is the reed switch that needs replacing or by passing. Hope this helps.

I have a thetford toilet in my caravan with electrical flush since the big freeze it makes a flush noise but despite being full will not flush

Try tapping on the opening in the bottom of the toilet, the valve that opens, with a broom handle while flushing to see if it has somhow gotten stuck. There is also a micro switch in the groove that the blade turn knob slids into, this could be bad as well as the pump may have been damaged, it is under the toilet roll holder. Here is a link to their repair site.

Im trying to find the wiring am for a thetford C2 porto potti

Go to www.thetford.com.
Click Customer Support then Product manuals and download manual in PDF format.
Wiring of C2 has fuse, safety switch, flush switch and flush pump in series. If fuse is blown you probably need to replace pump. Instructions come with replacement pump.

Casset toilet will not pump water for flush

Open door, remove toilet cassette unit, look in under flush water tank, observe a short metal blade that actuates a safety switch. This is between two plastic guides. Now look just outside the right hand guide. There you will find the fuse which is a standard blade type. Just pull it down to remove from holder. You will probably find it rated at 3 amp. If it is blown you will probably have to replace pump. Looks difficult but is actually dead easy. Instructions come with replacement Thetford pump. Only problem you may have is a perished sealing ring on the paper holder cup which is no longer available as a spare. Just use a good quality outdoor type sealant as a replacement. Be sure to recover any bits of broken ring from the flush water tank as these can be drawn into your replacement pump and cause it to sieze. At minimum this will cause you to say bother! Happy repairing.
