Most of these digital frames are made by a few companies and are most likley sealed. Like Sears they stick on the names of whoever want to sell them. They are made as cheap as possible and don't use the highest quality parts. Plus there are hundreds of variations of models.

SOURCE: Can't load pictures to Omnitech Digital Photo Frame Model #15242

A remote for a digital photo frame? Are you sure it is an Omnitech Photo Frame? Mine did not come with one, but here is what you can do. Just load your pictures onto an SD chip and put it in the slot in the back of the frame. Plug in the power cord and then press the exit button on the back to get out of their sample pictures. Just play around with the OK - Exit and arrows on the back of the frame and you will be able to set up a slide show with the pictures from your mem chip. If you want more help you can go to: www.product-support-omnitechnology.com or call them at 1-866-540-8831 with questions.

SOURCE: RE: omnitech 8.5 digital picture frame. smartparts

I had same problem today, my software on the PC was version 3.03, I upgraded to 4.1, it seems to work better now.

These frames are a little flaky, sometimes I have to power it off, and on, for it to be recognized.

SOURCE: have a digital decor 8'' picture frame

I have contacted the company who makes this frame and the first time they sent me a new frame. It has since happened again twice. I don't know why I ever bought a second one. luby3298 is correct....if you turn the on off switch back and forth for what seems like forever it will sometimes come back on. I really wish that there was a way to group together to get this company to refund the money spent or to continue to replace the product. If you type in the model number in google with the word problem or issue you will see that we are not the only ones facing this problem. It only seems to happen when someone shuts this frame off or when the power goes out. I won't recomend this product or anything related to digital decor to anyone in the future.

I have a Omnitech 18722 model digital picture frame. I have replaced the power cord and it still will not work. What can I try next?

If there is a reset button (sometimes it's inside the battery compartment or on the edge of the frame), press it in with a pen or pencil. Hold for 30 seconds. Try restarting the unit.

If there is no reset button, try pressing and holding the "power" switch for 30 seconds.

How to replace fix a digital photo frame

IF it is old, it may have a problem with the back light. If the image is yellowing then it is an indication that the back light is failing. There are programs that you can get to reset the LCD pixels on computers but the issue is that you cannot run them on a picture frame. One thing to try is to get a picture of something that is bright white and load it several times on the picture frame. Then run it for several hours on the frame so that it changes from one image to next and the images are all the same. This is one way to reset the LCD. The other thing is that you need to set the frame so the light intensity is low while this is running.

Omnitech 8.5 Digital Photo frame...no Instructions

I had this same problem and after playing with it for several hours, I discoverd the software that came with the frame was copying my photos to the "D" drive. Since my frame was connected to my computer through the "g" USB, of course the photos were never copied. So I went the the Smartparts software (that came with the frame) and found the folder which was saved on the "d' drive. I then did a simple "copy to" "g" drive (this is where my frame was connected to. If these instructions are clear, ask again and I will try to further help you. Good Luck!
