How to make jaws of life for school project using cardboards and plastics

This is a "school" question for some sort of school class.
You need to go to a public library or a public school to find the answer to this question.

You first need to see how they operate. If you can visit a fire station, perhaps they can explain how they function. You might also want to contact Hurst Tools for some assistance in understanding how they operate.

Are you trying to make a model or mini-sized "Jaws of life" or the real thing?

I would study the design of the ones already in use and take the pattern to design your own. Take a tour at the local fire dept.
