Can you not just turn the flywheel, on the right, which lowers the needle, into your fabric, adjusting as you manually lower the needle?
The drivers, are part of the original software package. And when you install the app onto your computer, the proper drivers should download onto your computer, and place the files in the proper place, to work with your machine.

I assume that you have a computer and have the Janome software on some type of media (flash drive for example.) The Viking uses a different format that the Janome. Janome uses either .sew or .jef You can download the free program "My Editor" Open the Janome design in My Editor then ask the program to save it in the format your Viking uses--.hus or .vip uses. (Choose saveas, click on the drop down box and find the format your machine uses.) You can download My Editor from this site http://www.drawstitch.com/index.php/Downloads/my_editor/
Google "Stitch ERA Universal" its a free digitizer. you can convert clipart into jef files or many other types of machines. it works well with my wifes janome 9500.
Hi there - I have a Janome 300e - try http://www.emblibrary.com/ they offer some free embroidery files each month and their other embroidery files are very reasonably priced. They also have a projects section. Hope this helps. Bron. :)
