Buy a new powerbrick, it is probably the battery not charging.
If i let my acer run without powerbrick and its battery is empty, i get 5 flashing lights.

SOURCE: acer laptop question.

Your battery may be dead to a point that it cant boot your system. Try to charge it for a day or so then try with the adapter, and battery

SOURCE: My Acer Aspire 5570Z laptop's power button issue

Underneath the power button that you see is a small board with a tiny tactile button. These tactile buttons because they get used alot tend to go bad. They will get worn out and then eventually won't work.

Best thing to do is to go to this page courtesy of Acer:

https://secure2.tx.acer.com/FixMyAcer3/FixMyAcer.aspx

There is a phone number there and they should be able to tell you if your laptop is under warranty. If its not, ask them the name of the board underneath the power button and its part number and you can search for it yourself on the internet to get the best price

SOURCE: NO PICTURE, NO SOUND, TV TURNS ON THEN TURNS OFF

Well, Everything said on this site is true. I recently had a breakdown on the same type of TV and through this site and the comments left, I was able to repair my tv for less than $50. (Extra cost for upgrading my soldering iron that wasn't getting hot enough) It was amazing. The feeling when the tv powered up and stayed on. Credit goes to Howard and Chris Palmer for their comments. It is possible. You just have to commit and do it. Its not as hard as you might think. Thanks guys.

Black screen with blinking cursor

Sounds like software is not fulling loading. Reboot the computer into safe mode by turning off, and then back on while pressing the F8 key. The computer should boot into the safe mode and hopefully provide you a means to further troubleshoot.

Acer Aspire 4830T battery behaving vaguely.

Are you using the provided charger, or are you using an after market "Universal" charger?
If you're using a universal charger, it could be charging the battery too hot and the computer just doesn't understand why the battery is putting out more than the system is expecting.
It could also be that the battery is wrong type. The voltage may be the correct, however the Ah may be too high. This being the case, the computer doesn't understand what why the it's getting a higher Ah reading than it's expecting. The system can not reason that that if it detects more amp-hours than the it should have that it has that much more charge time. It just sees "ERROR" and since you're dealing with a system function that is designed to prevent loss of data the default action is to shut down to prevent loss of data.
You may be able to fix by resetting the Power Management Options. Unfortunately, with out doing test on the machine, it is impossible to tell. I could be software or hardware. If nothing else works, try replacing the battery again.

Do you still have the old battery. If so charge it, and see if it charges properly. If so then you have a bad battery.

My acer can not detect memeory card

Detach the memory card out of its slot, and re-insert again. If there is any contact trouble with memory card's slot with card, this type of fault can occur. If you wish to get more details about how to take out memory card out of its slot, and how to re- insert it, check the site linked here. It has disassembly illustrations to Acer Aspire. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up previous posts there, either by type in the model name to your set in its search box, or view it in Timeslide option.

Acer aspire turns on but nothing on the screen

Hi;

This happened to me twice ( got two net books).

You need to follow up these steps:
Updating the BIOS will require a USB flash drive to store the BIOS information on during the update. To perform the update to the BIOS:
1.Go herehttp://support.acer.com/us/en/default.aspx and download the latest BIOS for the netbook.
2.Extract the files from the downloaded zipped BIOS file.
3.In the Dos_Flash folder, rename the BIOS file from 3310.fd to ZG5IA32.FD, in all capital letters.
4.Copy ZG5IA32.FD and Flashit.exe to the USB flash drive
5.Ensure that the AC adapter is plugged in.
6.Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port.
7.Press and Hold down the Fn and the Esc keys together and press the power button.
8.When the unit's power light comes on wait a few seconds and release the Fn and Esc keys.
9.After the keys have been released the power light will start to blink.
10.During the BIOS update process the display will be blank.
11.Let the unit run and after approximately 1 to 7 minutes, the unit should reboot and the BIOS will be updated.
If the unit fails to reboot, or the BIOS was not updated sucessfully, try the steps again. If the unit continues to fail to reboot, the unit may need service.
