Is the Sta-rite DS3HF-01 pump a self-priming pump? I don't have a plug on the top to remove to add water (there is a faucet bib where that plug is indicated, according to the manuals)

SOURCE: Where to add water to prime pump ds3hf-01 sta rite

water is filled in the body of the pump to prime it
fill the filter housing if that is part of the pump
make sure that there is no open pipes /hoses or air leaks on the suction side of the pump and that includes any vacuum machine hoses floating on the water surface

Have deep well vetical sta rite pump both pipes in ground staying full of water will not pump press does not looose prime but wont build press

shut off pump breaker at the lowest faucet drain completely. Turn it back on. If this doesn't work, you have to change out the pressure valve on the side of the tank. it's not hard.

Do I need gasket sealer on gasket between motor and pump housing on sta-rite water pump?

You will know if the housing has a gasket groove cut in it for a o-ring. if not no gasket needed.

I had to take the motor out and put it back together now its not getting water what do I have to do. The motor works fine

If this is a self priming pump you will just have to fill the pot with water. If not you will have to open a valve and force some water through the system to prime the pump. This being done, if you still have no water you may have a suction leak keeping the pump from priming and may need a repairman at that point. Good luck.

How do you prime a sta-rite mse-6 deep well pump?

Take the pressure guage off and pour water in the hole untill it fills the pump, then screw the guage back on and cranck it up. You may have to do this a few times depending on how deep in the grownd the water is.
