Press the Menu button on your VIZIO remote. Use the arrow keys to highlight 'Audio' or 'Audio Settings' and press the 'OK' key on the remote. Make sure it says 'On' next to the TV Speakers setting. If it states off, press okay to choose 'ON'.

SOURCE: PS3 been working fine over

TV Connectivity
The issue of connectivity between the PS3 and the display is very complex and depends on the type of TV (Analog, Digital or HD Ready), the maker of TV (until recently, only Toshiba TVs have component AV connections as standard in Europe, most other Euro TV sets use SCART which can not carry an HD signal) and specification of TV (the very latest HD Ready TV sets have wider connectivity options than earlier HD "capable" TVs from the same manufacturer which may have lacked HDMI), and finally the configuration of the PS3 model purchased.

SOURCE: i have succesfully connected my dynex 32" lcd hdtv

What cables are you using for the XBOX and the digital box? What surround sound system are you using (what receiver)? Which model of Dynex 32" TV do you have? Looking at the DX-L32-10A, I can connect both devices to the TV and then the audio out to the surround sound system.

If HDMI, then that will carry the audio to the TV and then you would need an audio cable from the audio out on the TV to the surround sound speakers. Similarly, if you use component video and the audio cable combination, there are 2 component video jacks and 3 audio-in jacks on the rear of the TV. Then connect another cable from the audio out of the TV to the surround sound system. (This TV has one audio out and a headphone jack.)

If you previously had the audio going from the Rogers digital box directly to the surround sound system, you need to reroute things unless there are two or more sets of audio in jacks on the surround sound system. Some surround sound system can take several HDMI in cables and then route it to the TV on a HDMI out port.

Without more information, I can't be sure of the best option for your cables.

I hope this gets you started and please provide more information for additional suggestions.

My vizio m550nv has picture but no sound, tried all trouble shooting tips nothing worked

1. Check the audio setup menu, make sure that the internal speaker is turned on;

2. If the internal speaker is turned on, the problem is the main board.

3. If you use a set-top box (such asa cable box or a satellite box) it may be defective. To vitrifying it , please connect a DVD player to the TV, play a move, let see it has sound or not.

My Insignia Blu-ray DVD player and our Panasonic DVD player are playing only the sound with no picture. We put the correct imputs on the TV. They were playing fine a few days ago. We have Charter cable....

Sounds like the input board on the tv fried. (45-65$ fix if that's it)

Try the same two devices on different inputs , ie change from hdmi to component , or just use hdmi 2 instead of one, you get the idea.

Make sure the devices dont work on other inputs on the tv.

Then take a different device , like a 3rd dvd player and try it.

If nothing works in that input but works in other inputs the tv input board might (likely) need replacing.

If the third fresh device does work in that input , it is both dvd players or the cable you are using. (try to use a different cable in the tests than the one you have already used. )

Does not switch to its external speakers

You have a cabling and/or setup issue and need to check your hardware manuals (or find them online) for instructions.

I have a Samsung HT-C550, a DirecTV satellite box, a Vizio 37" HDTV, a Sony 5-disk DVD player and a Vizio Blu-Ray DVD player, all peacefully co-existing (with the use of a bunch of cables as well as a Logitech Harmony 700 universal remote).

The TV (not the home theater) controls the use of the TV speakers.

There are multiple options to get this to work. I run an HDMI cable from the sat box to the TV. (HDMI sends audio & video to the TV). I then run an optical cable from the TV to the CT550 and use the "D-In" setting to get the sound to play.

Instead of the optical cable from TV to CT550, you can run audio from the sat/cable box directly to the CT550 using (red/white) RCA cables from the "audio out" jacks on the sat/cable box to the "AUX1" or "AUX2" inputs on the CT550"

Hope this helps!!

Memorex mvd2047 dvd player - no audio when playing dvd

Regarding the problem with the sound on your DVD player, I would suggest you to make sure the audio cables (red and white) are connected properly to the TV and player.

Also, try using a different set of cables since those ones might not be working and this is why you are not getting audio. On the Memorex remote you will find a mute button, make sure it is not activated.

I have the same set, same problem with one of my MOTOROLA boxes, but not with another. I have a SONY TV that works fine with this new MOTO box, but the new VIZIO does not. The audio is coming through the HDMI cable just fine, and the fact that it works when you cycle power on your TV means it's the SYNC between the TV and the BOX. I have the identical problem and am taking back the MOTO box for another one. I spoke to VIZIO for about 45 minutes trying different things. They think it's the MOTOROLA box, COX (my cable company) thinks it's this particular box, who knows.

No sound when using coax...

Do you use AV inputs for your Cable box? If so, try swapping the audio inputs in the TV, that is, interchange the AV inputs for your DVD and cable box. If sound is audible in a different input, then the Audio input (for Cable) on your TV is faulty. One simple suggestion, Why don't you route your Cable signal through the Tuner of your VCR?
