Enter in service mode . And print the error log report ( Report/output/error log list ) in that list you can see wich sensor is detecting the jam. Please try and let me know

SOURCE: Error: "Back cover is open. Close back cover."

We had this problem. It turned out there was actually a piece of paper stuck in the printer! It wasn't so easy to see it from the rear.

We removed the paper from the front by taking out the ink cartridge first. Turned the printer back on and everything was fine.

THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH ONE OF THE COVER SWITCHES. EVERY COVER HAS A SWITCH, ONE OF THEM MAYBE STUCK, BROKEN, OR MISSING. GOOD LUCK.

Props to Profjake. I followed his advice and problem solved! Here is what I found out.

I had the "Back door open" error on the LCD panel. There is a "interupter" type of sensor that detects if the back door is open or closed. When the back door is closed a lever is pushed forward and blocks the interupt module. The lever that blocks the sensor was not reqching the sensor horizontally - it was too far to the left. The lever on the far right is part of a 6" rod that goes across the middle of the paper path. The rod had jumped out of it's "home" position to the left and it was bowed a little bit. I carefully re-seated the rod to by gently lifting it and moving it to the right into a slot 1/8" from where I found it. The error cleared immediately. The was most likely caused by removing a paper jam.

Once again props to Profjake as his advice led me to the solution.

Hu said that!

SOURCE: Brother DCP 7020 error 'back cover open close

  • Open the back cover.
  • Pull the flap down that hides the orange roller on the fuser (be careful: it's hot)
  • Locate the inner flap that runs from the centre to the right hand side.
  • 3/4 along the right hand side, there is a tiny little perpendicular appendage on this bar that should sit in a slot. Locate it properly and the error will go away. You can go that by slightly bending the slot if fits into on the inner flap. The appendage can get jossled out of the slot when one is removing jambed paper.

My mx410 displays error code 5100 cover not closed. It is closed and can not clear code. Help

Error code 5100 on a Canon MX410 printer indicates a problem with the printer's cover. It is possible that the cover is not properly closed or that there is an issue with the cover's sensor.
To troubleshoot this issue, try the following steps:
  1. Check the cover: Make sure the cover is properly closed and fully seated on the printer. If the cover is not properly closed or is not fully seated, it can cause the printer to display an error message.
  2. Check for any visible issues: Inspect the cover and the printer for any visible issues that may be causing the problem. This can include debris or foreign objects that may have gotten stuck in the printer, or damage to the cover or the printer.
  3. Check the cover sensor: Make sure the cover sensor is functioning properly and that it is not damaged or obstructed. The cover sensor is responsible for detecting when the cover is open or closed, and if it is not functioning properly, it can cause the printer to display an error message.
If you have tried these troubleshooting steps and the problem persists, it may be necessary to have the printer serviced by a professional. A technician will be able to diagnose the problem and determine the necessary repairs.
I hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.

I have a problem with my copier CANON IR 2016J error: close front or left cover, i tried to close them and did all i can still

Hi,

if you've closed all covers and the error still exists, please restart the copier. If errors are still coming up, please check that all debris have be removed from your printer or any potential sensors . You can also clean the copier surface with material recommended by the manufacturer before restarting the device.

Thank you.

How do i fix the cover error?

A sensing cover switch is tuck. Try opening and closing all covers firmly a few times to see if that does the trick . If not you will have to locate all of the cover switches and check them one by one.

E 803 error in 3170

Hello,
this is Door close error.

Check if the door's nose that goes into the sensor hole broken, check the door closed/open switch, Check on connection of the front cover open/close switch (SW3) , Replace the front cover open/close
switch.

It's hard to locate it without service manual, but... if you manage to remove the plastic cover over the toner inlet then you will be able to see the hole where the nose of the door ( inner side of the door ) goes into.

For service manual, You can send me the mail on [email protected]

Hope that helps!

X3480 printer.message is saying;cover is open

the meaning of cover is open means --------the cover means.the thing which you lift to remove or install the cartridges.just keep that cover closed.if that cover is closed still its showing the same error.then the sensor which detects the cover closed is got moved from its orignal position.to reset the sensor just tap all the sides of the printer for couple of minutes.mostly the top side and front side of the printer.and then check out the error must go away.if still the same error then its quite possible that sensor is broked as it very very delicate .so it needs a technician to replace the broken sensor.the cost to replace the sensor must not exceed then $5.

When attempting to print, I receive an error message which states "Inner conver is open. Close the inner cover and press OK". However, the inner cover is closed...? I have opened and closed...

Are you looking at the canon error window picture that show up on your monitor: It is the front inner flap you see after you open up the two top "covers". I forgot I opened this one looking for a paper jam. The printer cartridges would not even move to the front with this flap opened. After I closed the inner flap it all works (after opening and closing the top two "covers" many times!
