I would take a look to make sure your coils are not frozen or covered with ice on the inside of the fridge on the back wall and also double check the drain line on the back.

You could have a faulty switch that controls the thermostat as well.

SOURCE: freezer door rubbing

take the freezer door off and put a washer or two on the bottom hinge. sometimes there are extra plastic washers on the top hinge that you can move to the bottom to lift it up.
also check if the hinge is bent or loose, as this may cause the problem.

SOURCE: refrigerator side not sealing tightly when shut.

Sounds like you may need a new magnetic seal. It is worth the money to fix it, saving electric and your food items.

SOURCE: Freezer door does not close properly

inspect the seal all the way around the door. check to make sure that it is not in a bind when you open and close the door. if it is you can try a little wd40 or silicone spray on the gasket and frame of the refrigerator where the gasket meets the frame. this will help it slide accros the frame better.

if the gasket is bound up and out of shape, you can heat it up with very hot water to straighten it.

make sure that you keep the gasket and the door facing clean. spillage from the use of the refrigerator/freezer can cause the gasket to stick especially at the bottom.

I have a Sharp Fridge-Freezer, model SJ-F78SP-BK. The Fridge compartment freezes. If left on overnight, everything will freeze as if it had been left in the freezer. Freezer is working fine.

Hi,

please increase the temperature in the fridge portion of your fridge as it sounds like you've set that compartments temperature too low.

Thank you.

Subzero refrigerator/freezer, model 590. Door gaskets replaced last year, but it still ices up in top front of freezer? Any ideas?

Ice or frost in the freezer can be caused by one of Three issues:
    • An improperly closed door.
    • Improper ventilation of the freezer.
    • The Ice Maker Flap.
    1. Door Not Closed Properly
    • Make sure that the freezer door closes completely.
    • Make sure that the door gaskets are attached properly to the door and that they are clean. Also, make sure they are sealing properly and are not torn or split.
Take a dollar bill and close it in the door. If you can pull the dollar out with no resistance, the seals should be replaced.
    • Make sure there are no packages resting against the rear wall of the freezer.
2. Improper Ventilation
    • Make sure there are no packages resting against the rear wall of the freezer.
    • Space your food out as much as possible to improve ventilation.
    • Make sure that the air vent in the freezer is not blocked.
    Refrigerator Compartment
If your refrigerator is freezing food, the temperature is set too low. Raise the temperature a few degrees to fix the problem.
If your refrigerator temperature is too high, condensation may build up and freeze on the bottom of the refrigerator. Lower the temperature a few degrees to fix the problem.

Why on a whirlpool gold double door refrigerator

That's an easy one, the draw is not in correctly, preventing the door to close properly. Clean up the mess then work with the draw until it seats properly, then double check that the door seals closes right.

We just started our new Sharp refrigerator (type: SJ-PT690R) yesterday evening after five hours of delivery. We set the temperature of the freezer & refrigerator at (-18 & 5) respectively. It is...

The fresh food compartment should be set to approx. 35 -37 degrees. Setting the fresh food compartment to a temperature below freezing does not compute and will not display an illogical reading. Adjust your settings according to your users manual and wait 24 hrs. before making any other adjustments

FRS26H5DSB2 freezer is only freezing bottom shelf, fresh air side

Your model should have an Adaptive defrost control located inside the fresh food compartment. That is the most likely reason for your problems with your defrost problems. If you are able to reset that leaves me curious. To get the proper air circulation we will need to get the defrost working on time, and clean around the condenser below the refrigerator. Once the ADC is replaced the refrigerator should begin to operate more efficiently and these problems will resolve themselves as long as door seals and temperature setting may need to be returned to there normal settings. The part number for the Adaptive Defrost is Part Number 1036287 I will assist you in the repair if you like, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Sub-zero 500 series refrigerator door wont stay closed

If Your Refrigerator's Freezer Door Pops Open When You Close the Fresh Food Door... If a 'top-freezer' refrigerator's freezer door pops open when the larger fresh food door's closed, it's actually a good thing. That tells us the seals are in great shape, sealing well.
Some freezer door 'pop' is unavoidable bc the bottom door's so much larger than the top one and the hydraulic effect of compressing all that air kicks in. The two compartments share the same air via a duct between them, and that compressed air rushes up into the freezer compartment and can 'pop' the door.
To improve the situation, apply a few drops of oil (sewing machine oil or 'three in one' - NOT WD-40) to each freezer door hinge pin. (Even better: if you can, pull the doors and coat the hinge pins with petroleum jelly). This will help the freezer door swing back closed by itself. The freezer door usually stays ajar because it's binding a bit, and that's usually caused by it's swinging 'dry', with no lubrication.
It’s also a good idea to ‘kick’ the habit of letting the refrig door close hard.
