1) Ensure that the Video/Image files you are trying to view are compatible with
the tablet. Compatible files are located on the packaging and in the User
Manual. You can also locate this information on the website, mydisgo.com
2) If you have not already done so, we would advise that you update the device

3) If the Gallery app only freezes when accessing files on the SD card (and
not internal memory), please try using the alternative memory card slot or test
using a different memory card.

You could download a JB rom for your nextbook 8 and flash it using live suit or do a factory reset by turning it off then hold down the vol up button then hold the power at the same time until you get recovery appear then you can do a factory reset.

If this is a new device check to see if it needs some program updating.
This is just a guess before it froze did you set a sleep timer? If you left it on with no sleep timer the image might have permanently burned into the screen
