Blood pressure is exceedingly sensitive to muscle tension and emotional distress, which is interrelated.

SOURCE: Omron hem-704C blood pressure monitor show down

If your HEM 704C fell hard, it is probably the pressure transducer that is faulty, broken. To my experience it is cheaper to buy a new one then to have it repaired by a technician

SOURCE: if the density of the blood pressure of the person

120mmHg is equal to 16000 Pa this is the pressure of the blood at the bottom of the tube, at the vein.

P is [pressure of the blood]
d is [density of the blood]
g is [gravitational acceleration]
h is [height] ,the distance between the surface of the fluid and the test level where we want to get the pressure (in our case the height of the blood in the tube)

Since pressure in a fluid is P=d*g*h

The atmospheric pressure may now be neglected, since it affects the blood in the tube as well as the blood in the body.

P=16000 Pa
d=1050kg/m^3
g=9,8 m/s^2

we want the height so we divide both sides with (d*g) so we get
P/(d*g)=h we write in the numerical values

16000/(1050*9,8)=1,5549 meters

So the blood may go as high as 1,5549 meters in the tube.

Hope it helps you. If you have any further questions feel free to ask.

SOURCE: what are the common causes creating high blood pressure. what can you do to combat high blood pressure.

Not enough exercise- taking regular exercise and losing weight is VERY effective in lowering BP.
Reduce salt intake - fast food is very heavy in salt so eat more fruit and veg, chicken, fish, lean meat.
Lower your cholesterol intake - which can cause narrowing of the arteries and contribute to high BP. Animal fats like that in meat and dairy are the worst but use olive or sunflower oil for cooking, drink semi skimmed milk and control the amount of cheese and red meat you eat.
Hope this helps.

Why would my blood pressure be high in the morning than at night?

I would take a look at what is different in the morning than at night. Is there some type of environmental factor (Food, activity or stress)? Is there a medication that you are taking that is affecting your blood pressure? Is that medicine wearing off or are you taking too much? This should be considered as well. You can try performing some detective work yourself or set up an appointment with your primary care physician. Good Luck.

How to control my high blood pressure is 160/100

hi Kenosi.
What to do if your blood pressure reading is 160/100
  • Don't make a decision based on one BP reading alone; lie down and rest for a few minutes before getting additional readings when you're calm.
  • Watch for symptoms of hypertensive emergency, such as headache, nausea or vomiting, confusion, vision changes, chest pain, and/or shortness of breath. These could be signs of a life-threatening problem and require a call to 911.
  • Be sure you're taking all medications as prescribed.
  • Call your doctor if several BP readings are above 180/110.
  • If you haven't yet done so, purchase a home blood pressure monitor that uses an arm cuff and check your BP every few days. (Wrist and finger monitoring systems don't give accurate results.) Write down each reading, indicating the date and time, and bring this record to the doctor when you visit.

What causes low blood pressure?

low blood pressure dangerous only if it causes
noticeable signs and symptoms, such as:
Dizziness or lightheadedness
Fainting (called syncope )
Dehydration and unusual thirst - Dehydration can sometimes
cause blood pressure to drop. However, dehydration does not
automatically signal low blood pressure. Fever, vomiting, severe
diarrhea, overuse of diuretics and strenuous exercise can all lead
to dehydration, a potentially serious condition in which your body
loses more water than you take in. Even mild dehydration ( a loss
of as little as 1 percent to 2 percent of body weight ), can cause
weakness, dizziness and fatigue.
Lack of concentration
Blurred vision
Nausea
Cold, clammy, pale skin
Rapid, shallow breathing
Fatigue
Depression
Low blood pressure can occur with:
Prolonged bed rest
Pregnancy - During the first 24 weeks of pregnancy, it's
common for blood pressure to drop.
Decreases in blood volume - A decrease in blood volume can
also cause blood pressure to drop. A significant loss of blood
from major trauma, dehydration or severe internal bleeding
reduces blood volume, leading to a severe drop in blood pressure.
Certain medications - A number of drugs can cause low blood
pressure, including diuretics and other drugs that treat
hypertension; heart medications such as beta blockers; drugs for
Parkinson's disease; tricyclic antidepressants; erectile dysfunction
drugs, particularly in combination with nitroglycerine; narcotics
and alcohol. Other prescription and over-the-counter drugs may
cause low blood pressure when taken in combination with HBP
medications.
Heart problems - Among the heart conditions that can lead to
low blood pressure are an abnormally low heart rate
(bradycardia ), problems with heart valves , heart attack and heart
failure . Your heart may not be able to circulate enough blood to
meet your body's needs.
Endocrine problems - Such problems include complications with
hormone-producing glands in the body's endocrine systems;
specifically, an under-active thyroid (hypothyroidism), parathyroid
disease, adrenal insufficiency (Addison's disease), low blood
sugar and, in some cases, diabetes.
Severe infection (septic shock) - Septic shock can occur when
bacteria leave the original site of an infection (most often in the
lungs, abdomen or ******* tract) and enter the bloodstream. The
bacteria then produce toxins that affect blood vessels, leading to
a profound and life-threatening decline in blood pressure.
Allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) - Anaphylactic shock is a
sometimes-fatal allergic reaction that can occur in people who are
highly sensitive to drugs such as penicillin, to certain foods such
as peanuts, or to bee or wasp stings. This type of shock is
characterized by breathing problems, hives, itching, a swollen
throat and a sudden, dramatic fall in blood pressure.
Neurally mediated hypotension - Unlike orthostatic
hypotension, this disorder causes blood pressure to drop after
standing for long periods, leading to symptoms such as dizziness,
nausea and fainting. This condition primarily affects young people
and occurs because of a miscommunication between the heart
and the brain.
Nutritional deficiencies - A lack of the essential vitamins B-12
and folic acid can cause anemia, which in turn can lead to low
blood pressure.
Severely low blood pressure can have underlying causes that may:
Be an indication of serious heart, endocrine or neurological
disorders
Deprive the brain and other vital organs of oxygen and
nutrients, ultimately leading to shock, which can be life
threatening

DS 1902 Blood Pressure Monitor error 2

The error 2 meant that the pressure sensor failed to detect expected pressure rise. This may caused by a failed sensor, abnormal sensor signal or sensor power source issue. It may also caused by a leaking cuff or tube (including internal tubes).

My failing monitor was caused by a bad power trace to the sensor on PCB, and broken tube between air reservoir, purge valve and the port. The tube is a T and was deteriorated. Had to make one myself.
