I have a Denon 485s. Can I connect my Ipod to it?

Yes, you can. You will need a cable like this
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004Z5CP/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1
that you will plug in the headphones socket on the Ipod and the Line In Audio connections at the back of the Denon.

1) how to make my amp record....because its not working when i try... 2) do i have to a cord in line 1 and 2??? 3) do i have to plug in the cord in :.....line in or line out??????

You will use microphone with balanced XLR connector into the XLR mic input. Note, the ALpha does NOT have phantom power so you cannot use condenser mics.

A guitar can be plugged into the hi-z instrument 1/4 inch jack on the left front of the unit.

To use the line 1/4 inch inputs you will use BALANCED TRS 1/4 inch cables from your source.for these channels. The level on these needs to be line level.

The line outs are for sending audio out to an amp. There appears to be RCA outputs you can use as well.

I am not sure what you mean by making your "amp record"... An amp PLAYS the audio, usually into a speaker.

If you are trying to play a guitar through your amp AND record, then you will connect your guitar to the Alpha, the amp input will have a cable from say Line 1 OUTPUT and when recording wou will have the echo feature on so your guitar is passed through to the amp.

I need to know step by step how to hook up my entired system using my macki board. I have a Mackie 1604 Vlz, a power amp for mains, a power amp for subs, a crossover, a vocal effects processor, and a 16...

ok, first thing will be the effects processor. look for the "aux sends" output jacks near the bottom center of the rear panel. run a 1/4 inch instrument cable from "aux send" 3 out into the input on the vocal processor, and run another from aux 4, if the effects processor has 2 inputs. then, from the vocal processors output, run 1/4 inch cables back into the "stereo returns" on the mixer, (located on the rear panel on the bottom, extreme left) 2 outputs per input, since its making stereo effects. so, if you ran just send 3 into the processor, you should have a left and right return instrument cables into the mixer for "stereo return" 3 (left and right). if your processor has 2 imputs, and you are using both "aux send" 3 and 4, then you will have to have a pair of cables going to each "stereo return" for 3 & 4. -to apply effects to a microphone(s), you would adjust the individual aux send levels for each channel you want to have effects, and you would have to ensure that the master aux sends and returns are also turned up..

ok, the snake is simple, each xlr (3 prong mic) connector on the snake is labeled, so, just plug each xlr jack into the corresponding channel on the board, and plug the first 2 1/4 inch ends of the snake into the "C/R out balanced" outputs on the board, located on the rear panel, up and to the left a bit.

at the stage end of the snake, ues a 1/4 inch instrument cable to copnnect the first 2 1/4 inch jacks on the snake to the left and right inputs of the crossover. then, from the crossover, connect the sub power amp to the "low" stereo outputs of the crossover with instrument cables, and connect the main speakers amp to the "high" stereo outputs of the crossover with instrument cables. if its an adjustable corssover, you will want to have it crossed over somewhere about 80-120 hz to allow only the lowest frequencies to the subs.

now, from the amps to the speakers, we ane going to have to use heavier 12-14 gague SPEAKER CABLES, instead of light gague instrument cables. hook the subs up to the stereo speaker outs of the sub amp with speaker cables, and do the same for the main speakers.

Yamaha m70 amp and c70 pre-amp right speaker stopped working

First, lets's determine if it's the amp or the preamp...

Swap the Left and Right channel cables between preamp and the amp with each other.

Did it stay on the right? = amp problem.

Now on the left? Preamp or source.

Plug any Line Level device (CD?) directly into the amp inputs. Work now? Preamp problem.

ALL sources? Preamp - toggle all controls, especially a Tape Monitor to possibly wipe of any built-up oxides in them.

I don't know where to connect the main in & pre amp jacks??? to the EQ???

Not sure I understand your question, but I will try.
Your CD players, tape decks, etc., connect to the INPUTS on the preamp.

The LINE OUT on the PRE AMP connects to the LINE IN on the POWER AMP.
The pre-amp does some amplification and then it passes the signal along to the power amp, which will do the heavy lifting - driving the speakers.
The connection is usually through a shielded RCA plug cable. THere will be 2 cables from the Pre amp to the power amp - one for the left channel and one for the right channel.
The OUTPUT Of the power amp will connect to the speakers using large, stranded wire cables, sometimes with "banana" plugs that simply plug into the terminals on the power amp and the speaker.
Let me know if this gets your started.
