SOURCE: makita dc1804f charger will not charge new i-mh 1834 18v battery

I think your tryiong to charge NIMH batteries oon a charger designed for Lithium Ion batteries. With all the new style batteries such as NICAD, NIMH and LI-ION, charging becomes difficult. Most chargers pre NIMH and LI-ion, were designed for NICAD's. The best advise, match your batteries with the correct charger

SOURCE: Jobmate 18 volt chordless drill charging

About 60 minutes...max 90 minutes. Do NOT leave it on the charger for hours and hours...that just cooks the battery.

And switch regularly between the two batteries...else the one that doesn't get used will die.

I currently live in Europe and have a Ryobi CHP-1802 drill with an 18 volt Li-Ion battery. The charger is a Ryobi BCL-1800 220 Volt, 50 Hz. I am moving back to the United States and want to keep thi

After looking at the manual for your charger, it looks like most of the Ryobi chargers like the P113, P114, P117, P118 will charge your battery. The connector on the battery looks the same as the P103 and P104 used here in the U.S.

Can you use 18v lithium battery in old 18v drill

Yes you can. On tools, 18 volts is 18 volts. Tools don't 'know' how the power is being created, either by Ni-Cad or Li-Ion means. Chargers are totally different. Most Li-Ion chargers can charge older Ni-Cad and some Ni-MH batteries but older Ni-Cad chargers will charge Li-Ion battery untill they overheat and sometimes start on fire because older chargers can't detect when the Li-Ion batteries are full.

Brand new hitachi 18v, one battery charged fine the second is completely dead it was in the drill from the factory and the charger won't recognize it when attached.

I have just had a similar issue I left the drill unused for a period and when i placed it in the charger the charger showed the battery as charged after about 15 secondseconds.

Following a internet search i found a site that suggested for a imlar problem with a camera jump starting the low battery with a 9 v battery. I had a spare from the drill which was fully charged so placed a contact from + to + and - to - and held for about 2 mins. I then placed the battery back in the charger and it started charging. Running the battery down as we speak to recharge again well worth a try. If you dont have a spare maybe the 9 v would work

WHERE CAN I GET A REPLACEMENT CHARGER FOR A GREATNECK DRILL?

I have to be the bearer of bad news. These are mass produced to give you the lowest price possible. They are made in Keorea/Taiwan and unfortunately do not make replacement parts. These are sold to any company that pays enough to put their name on it. Shop force makes the same drill and several other brands. So when something goes bad you have to replace the entire drill (only comes in the combo pk). You can't buy seperate pieces. Try shop force or Master craft. They're similar to what you have. Found one on Ebay. IF you keep looking you can probably find a seller with just the charger. Good luck

Dewalt battery 18 volt

How old is the battery? They do die if old and well used! You can try checking the fuse inside the charging unit . If this does not work or fuse is OK you can get the battery revived (there are places that do this) if it is not completely stuffed or just get a new battery which are quite cheep on ebay
