I tried a firmware update through the JBL app, but got a notification saying update failed and asked me to remove the power plug and reconnect, but after that, the device is not trying on, can someone guide me on how to resolve this issue

For the JBL Awake
I just had the same issue and i found a way to solve this :
1. Unplug the power supply
2. Plug it back while holding the [ON/OFF] button
3. The screen shows “UP9” again
4. Do the update with the JBL Music app (I did it with my old iPhone 4s plugged on the 30pin connector)
5. Finish the firmware update ... until the app tells you to unplug the power before restarting the device

For the iOS users : the "JBL Music" app can still be found on the Appstore (june 2020).
For Andro?d users, i'm sorry I don't have any Andro?d devices, i'm not able to find a solution.
I have an Ipad, and when i connect it to Onbeat Awake it tells that "The app is UP to date", but there is no sign of device firmware update.
Please help me resolve this "UP9" issue.

Actually some bad news for you all. When you used the VP somehow you corrupted the internal software in the GPS. If the damage is done then you need to reflash the internal memory of the GPS. If the unit is in warranty .. then call Magellan.
