SOURCE: jammed makita an923 nail gun

On most all nailguns when the trigger is activated air pressure is released from the headvalve causing the headvalve to open and fire the piston. If air leaks through the headvalve orings or through the headgasket port to headvalve, it will not fire. Try applying light grease to headvalve orings and make sure that headgasket is sealing around vent hole. If it fires then replace orings in headvalve for long term repair. Secondary problem is worn safety parts and trigger or trigger pin. If these parts are worn the trigger will not push the trigger valve pin all the way in when you bump fire the gun. With air supply disconnected, apply pressure to safety while depressing the trigger and check thet the pin is moving all the way into the trigger valve. Adjust or replace as necessary. Enjoy

SOURCE: Bostitch nail gun loss of pressure, won't fire nail

Hello. I can help you. The nail gun you have uses 18 gauge brads. I would use only original Bostitch 18 gauge.

The one MM of difference you mention is the reason why you do not have the pressure you did have. Get rid of those 31MM brads and get the 18 gauge. Home Depot carries the Bostitch line. I would go there or to homedepot.com

SOURCE: My nail gun won't fire nails and is blowing It

Stop using it and take it in for service. If it is leaking air then an o-ring or seal may have failed (most likely guess) and it needs to be replaced.

MY NAILGUN QUIT FIRING NAILS. I LOADED UP TWICE AND USED NAILS BUT AFTER LOADING THE 3RD SET OF NAILS MY NAILGUN WON'T FIRE THEM INTO WOOD. WHAT I HEAR IS JUST A SMALL AMOUNT OF AIR FROM AROUND THE...

Sounds like you may have a nail jam. You didn't specify what type of nailer you have - most finish guns have a latch to open the nose & clear a jam - if it is a framer most of the time it requires a long punch and a hammer to push the driver back in past the jam to clear it.
Let me know if this does not fix your issue.

Hitachi nail gun

If gun firing but nails not being driven could be one of two basic problems:
1. Nail jammed in magazine not allowing nails to move up.
Empty magazine, does follower move to top of magazine. Push gun against work piece, does fan motor start? Yes - jam in magazine or lock out bar not operating. (this would allow nail un to fire when out of nails)
2. Piston/driver not returning fully after firing, hence driver blade on top of next nail instead of behind it. This could again be caused by a jammed nail or just a nail head. Another case of not returning is the combustion chamber not making a good seal, check O rings on framer (they are steel rings on bradders) it may just need a good clean it is surprising how dirty they can get and if not cleaned a build up of dirt could break a seal. If not been cleaned for a long time worth checking piston rings, worst case scenario dirt builds up around the rings and stick fully in requiring new piston if the rings will not come out.
Nail guns work on the principle that an explosion pushes the piston driver forcing a nail into the work piece, after the explosion a vacuum is created and it is this that 'sucks' the piston/driver back up the cylinder.

My nailer won't put out nails some of the time and when it dose it's 2 at one time and some of the time won't put out at all untill i thump the push bar.

could be a few areas to look at. First does the driver retract fully after firing a nail, if not then I would replace the piston o ring. Do the nails move freely in the magazine, if not the magazine could be bent or possibly you have a problem with the nail collation, they have to slide freely and I think both areas need looked at. If you need more assistance I would need the brand and model number so I can help better.

Bostitch RN46-1 roof nailer won't advance nails into the piston chamber. After loading the nail coil, the first nail fires fine, but the next won't advance. Please help. Thanks!

check the height of the magazine, but I think that you have a problem with the feed piston or there is a spring on the feed pawl that might be broke. Unload the nails and dry fire the tool with the door open observing the piston movement. It should "SNAP" back and forth if it does unplug the air and check to see if the spring that applies pressure to the pawl is broken or missing. I am going to guess the piston. If this tool has not been serviced in a while the asphalt tends to jam up the mechanisms. Let me know if you need more assistance.

My bostitch 1664fn finish nail gun blows lots of air out exaust

Open the front and clear any jammed nails that are there. Oil the gun, push the drive pin back in if it didn't go back in when the front was off and try again. If there are repeated nail jam issues, try genuine Bostich nails.

Nail is jammed ln a bostich n88rh how do you clear the barrel

I have solved my problem, I am going to dump this bostich even though it is a brand new product that has not been used in over a year, has only fired approxamately a dozen nails and go with another product that has an honest customer relation rep that does not charge you for information on their products.
I will also remember my experiance with this company and there products

Yours truly
