I was running my 11k gen in the manuel position cold weather when doing this I reved the engine up and it stopped on over speed how do I reset the alarm

Not sure what unit you have or if electric start...but elce start then disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and re-connect. Clears the code on generac and some other manufacturers.

    p.s. not a good idea to do that can damage the engine and generator. Understand the thinking, tis -18 here right now so just trying to warm the engine up or generate a little more juice. Oh well.. now you know. hope al'ls well.

sounds like the thermostat stickng as when engine gets cold the choke will start workin again, causing the over reving or your electric fan is on all the time "over cooling" the engine

Cold weather causes air to condense and air pressure to be reduced, causing your tires to read low pressure to the TPM. Check and fill all your tires to your recommended vehicle inflation pressure, to stop the TPM from alarming you every 30 seconds.

The idle speed in this car is controlled automatically by the computer (ECM), the problem is that the valve that the computer operates gets dirty from gas fumes and cylinder backwash and this causes the symptoms you have, it is a common problem and the reason that all manufacturers have gone to automatic throttle control and eliminated the Idle speed control valve, it is fly by wire system. Do the following and it should clear the problem up, if not you may need to see the dealer for further testing.

To correct this problem Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (it is made by CRC) from the local auto parts store, NEVER USE CARB CLEANING SPRAY, IT DESTROYS THE ANTI-STICK TEFLON COATING, spray it into the air intake through the throttle body of the engine until you have used about half the can, you will need to hold the idle up while you do this, it will try to stall, after this shut the engine down and disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable for 5 minutes. The intake is now clean, if you continue to have the idle speed control problems you may need to seek the help of a professional.

My 2012 Kia Sedona has a rough idol and wants to stop running at stop signs. The check engine light come on. It is about -30 degrees outside could that be the issue.

emissions tend to freeze up in cold weather.. some folks block the extremely cold air up front with a disposable cardboard sheet.. this allows the motor to run warmer..you may need to do this..some cars have a space betweenthe radiator and the ac condenser to slide a sheet in there..otherwise it goes in front of the grille..

I would test, or replace my IAT sensor . (Intake air temperature sensor)
If it's defective, it will send wrong signal, thus wrong mixture for cold engine.

When cold out the engine makes noise and when you put it in gear it gets louder until it warms up.

everything is a fraction smaller in cold weather,as the car warms up everything will return to its normal place, just let the car warm up for a couple of min without reving the engine
