The visual screen is difficult to see. I tried adjusting the screen contrast, but it is still difficult to see. Is there an easy solution?
We have about 30 electroluminescent backlights for the 8000 still available .These are not original Janome parts. You will need a Janome service person to install then for you as it requires taking apart alot of the machine to get to the display. We can provide instructions if this person is unsure how to fit. Once the display is out, the process is simple. They are AUD$60 each including shipping. Email at [email protected]
The Backlight is prone to going dark eventually and failing progressively, but you can buy a replacement and even instal it yourself.....
We can now supply the LCD Backlight Screen for the Janome Memory Craft MC 8000 and Memory Craft MC 5700.
Keep your old Janome, save money and reduce unnecessary landfill.
It also comes with comprehensive installation instructions from the Original Janome Service Manual which are sent in advance so you can look at the "How to do it" before you decide whether you wish to DIY or enlist the services of a trusted friend or take the LCD Screen and installation instructions to your friendly local technician and have them do it for you.
Here is the LCD Backlight Link

I am told by Janome Australia that there are no parts to repair the machine.
If anyone knows of a spare screen I wold be thrilled to know. the letter I received from Janome Australia said the parts are not longer made and they can not assist.
The upshot is after 10 years i have no sewing maching.
Please go tohttp://www.sewingmachine.com.au/index.as... . We sell many discontinued parts no matter how old the machine is.

My screenis difficult to see and it is not changing stitches. the repair man said they don't make any parts so my machine only sews straight stitches.
very dissapointing
I had the same problem with my Memory Craft 8000 and my sewing machine shop had to send the screen to Janome in New York for repair. There are no parts to replace this anymore. The total cost including labor was $400.00.
The LCD screen on my Memorycraft 8000 is 'growing' inwards, with a black border now which prevents me from choosing some of the options, as I can't read the choices.
I have a 8000 and it will not start, the screen will not light up when you turn on the power there is light over the needle only. I have been told it cannot be fix as there are no parts avaliable Can I get it Fixed
My screen is so dark I can't read it, I can look at the guide and estimate where the correct stitch is and press there and it works so I know there is nothing wrong with the motherboard.
HI i have a problem with the LCD screen. I can noy move it off the 1st screen so what can i do?

My 15 year old Janome Memory Craft 8000 is slowly 'growing' a black display screen. Can someone suggest where I can have it repaired in Australia?
Ideally east coast - I live in Canberra, but can easily get it to Sydney or Melbourne.

My Memory Craft 8000 LCD screen is very light. Is there a way to adjust the setting. Also I'm trying to locate a user manual.
Any info will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
