  1. Plug your Firestick into one of the HDMI ports on your TV. Plug the USB power cable into your Firestick and into the wall or a USB outlet on your TV (if there is one)
  2. Turn on your TV and set the INPUT device to the correct HDMI port. There should be a splash screen or setup screen on your TV at that point.
  3. Using your Firestick remote, navigate to network settings and scan for your WI-FI router, Then enter the Wi-Fi password for your router (the same one you use for your smart phone or laptop).
You should be able to fully use your Amazon Firestick, and if you have Amazon Prime, be able to access all prime and free offerings from Amazon.

SOURCE: Panasonic plasma TV model TH-42PD60U won't turn on

I had this problem in 2007 / 2008 here is what happened to me. Jan 09, 2008 - I also have brought the unit to the authorized Panasonic repair facility and the problem is a failure in the P-board which is the power supply board. The P-board needs to be replaced. The repair will cost $475 plus tax. $250 is for labor. The unit was nop more than two months out of warranty. This does not speak well for Panasonic. I have been researching the problem and it looks like this has happened to many of the Panasonic plasma TVs.
Jun 14, 2008 - As an update to my problem with the failed P board. Contacted Panasonic Service and talked to a customer service representative. I told them how I have purchased many Panasonic products and how unhappy I was with the failure of the product. They proposed paying the labor cost of $250 and I would pay for the part. I just hope it does not happen again.

My firestick is frozen on home page

If yourAmazon Fire TV displays normally but you aren’t able to use any controls, first try troubleshooting the remote. For more information on troubleshooting the remote, go to Can't Pair a Fire TV Remote or Game Controller.
Restart your device. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the device or from the power outlet, and then plug it back in.
You can also use your remote to restart your device. Press and hold the Select Select Button
and Play/Pause Play/Pause Button
buttons at the same time, for about five seconds. Or, select Settings > Device > Restart from the Fire TV menu.

Make sure that you are using the power supply provided with your Amazon Fire TV device. Connect the included power adapter into the power port on the back of your Fire TV, then plug the other end into a power outlet.
For Amazon Fire TV (1st and 2nd Generation), make sure that you are using a High Speed HDMI cable, if needed. The cable should say "High Speed", "1.3", or "1.4" on it. Plug one end of your HDMI cable into the HDMI port on the back of your Amazon Fire TV, then plug the other end into an available HDMI port on your TV. For Fire TV Stick, make sure that you use the included HDMI extender.
If you are using an HDMI hub, disconnect your Amazon Fire TV device from the hub and try plugging it directly into the TV.
Try switching to a different HDMI port on your television. Remember which HDMI port you used to connect your Amazon Fire TV device and switch to the corresponding input channel on your TV.

Plasma tv/home theater

Is your Panasonic set to monitor the HDMI input? Just like selecting a mode input on the Tv you must also select the mode input on the surround system.

Will not connect with BT hub type 5

https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/customerdocumentation/Fire+TV+Stick+User+Guide.pdf

Page 35

You may need to assign an ip address to the firestick and a Wep or WPA password that the Bt hub is requiring.

http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11383/c/346,1887
If you decide to go with a static ip address for the stick make sure it is not leased out and assigned by the bt hub DCHP server

How can I get my new Amazon fire tv stick to install? Every thing is plugged in correctly and powered up but the screen says it "Can't contact Amazon.com so try a new router or wireless network"

Check this first:
  • Connect your Amazon Fire TV device to one of these network or router types:
    • Open, WEP, WPA-PSK, and WPA2-PSK encrypted networks
    • B, G, and N routers on 2.4Ghz
    • A and N routers on 5Ghz
    • Hidden networks
  • Enable wireless connectivity on your Amazon Fire TV device. From the Home screen, select Settings > System > Wi-Fi.
  • Make sure you know your network password (if required). If you see a lock icon, a network password is required. This password is not your Amazon account password.
  • Make sure your Internet connection is not down. Restart your router and modem to solve most Wi-Fi network issues.
  • Do not place your wireless router or Amazon Fire TV device in a cabinet, as it impacts your Wi-Fi signal strength.
Also, try this for Fire TV Stick:
  • Use the included HDMI extender to optimize the location of your Fire TV Stick. The HDMI extender can improve your wireless connectivity by positioning your Fire TV Stick further from the TV.
  • Plug the power cord into the included power adapter and then into a wall outlet to ensure the device receives enough power for optimal performance.

Still having trouble?
  • Restart your Amazon Fire TV device. Disconnect the power cord from your Amazon Fire TV device for three seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
Tip: You can also restart your Amazon Fire TV device with your remote. Press and hold the Select button and the Play button at the same time until the Amazon Fire TV device restarts (about five seconds). Or go to Settings > System > Restart.
