I just changed the battery on my Sentry Gun Safe model GV8525-2ST and now when I enter my code the pins will not retract. I inherited the safe and do not know the factory default code.

i am a locksmith that has worked on several of these. The safe is manufactuered with three types of lock mechanisms 1. combo dial 2. digital 3. advanced digital the advanced digital is what you have there are no green lights on it. look at the manual carefully there are 2 seperate sections on the digital key pads yours will be the second.

These safe are easily opened by a good locksmith. So if you have items in the safe you need to get out a safe and vault tech could drill it open and repair it for a small fee. I really don't think it is the chip probably just a stuck solinoid.
