Most likely there is a sensor that is out of place. That is the most likely problem. If it is not out of position then it may have failed. But what is happening is when you insert the document into the feeder, the machine is detecting a paper already in the feeder.

Toshiba eStudio 203SD. ADF doesn't work despite tech "fixing" it. Put docs in ADF, message "Check ADF/RADF."
