No vertical output, but vertical ic workng fine, vertical supply ok,

Touch the input pin of the vertical IC, by the blade of the screwdriver, and see whether there is a tendency to change with width of the horizontal line on screen. If so, check and replace the horizontal, video if, vertical oscillator jungle IC. Check the frequency to the input of the vertical scan IC, with a frequency meter. If there is frequency, and still no vertical scan output, check the yoke connection, and make sure that it has no open circuit. Tv has horizontal line in middle of screen, sanyo ds25390

hi if only a horizontal line across with no video anymore, you have bad either vertical ic or no dc supply b+( vertical ic ) or no output dc coming from the ic. if it is not totally a horizontal white line and you can see a video you must check leak or bulged capacitors at the vertical section near the vertical ic. hope this can help good luck.

The tv has a black screen with a white horizontal line accros the screen. From where you connect you coax cable, I used to have to wiggle the cable to get video, i currently have audio but only the while...

Hi,
Your problem is not in the tuner. Since you have a sound but horizontal line only and when you bump the unit the video comes out, this is only indicated that you have a dry joints in the vertical section. Re-soldering the cold solder on that area will cure the problem. Dry joints is hard to spot so you need to work with a good source of light. Vertical IC is located near the FBT and secured with the heat sink.
Hope it may help you.
Have a nice day.

My Philips 50P8341 video inpust not working - all three out. Do hav audio.

if youre getting audio the inputs are working, it seems more like the vertical IC has failed causing the Tubes to shutdown for protection. Try replaceing the vertical output IC

I believe its the vertical output IC. Diodes would tend to blow fuses . I would replace the vertical output and see if that takes care of the problem.

JVC AV-K21TR

The faint white lines at the top of the screen is the warning that the pump-up capacitor in the vertical output circuit is going bad and the output itself is about to short out. When the TV stops working, the vertical output IC has finally shorted out. Replacing the vertical output IC, the pump-up capacitor and possibly a small value resistor next to the flyback (B+ for the v-out) should bring the set back to life.

Screen only showing single line of video in center.

hi there, is the single line horizontally or vertically? if horizontal line, you do have a vertical section problem, check some parts at vertical section, the vertical ic, the power source of vertical section ie diode & resistors. ty

JVC model AV 278p6 standard television

I'll bet you have vertical output IC with some pins not soldered. This IC ( integrated circuit) is a "chip" that makes the picture fill out from top to bottom. After a period of time heat will cause the pins to crack loose on the circuit board. You need to have a tech check it for you. Stargazer
