Is the bottom part of the double oven the broiler?

This is an old S and G has double oven unit. Both heat up when you turn them on. Does anyone know if the bottom unit is the broiler?

SOURCE: bottom oven of dacor double oven

I found the lower circuit breaker had been tripped. That didn't fix the problem but upon further inspection whoever had worked on the unit years ago had dropped a screwdriver that had lodged between the oven wall and the rear casing and shorted out the lower heating element. I removed the screwdriver and oven works fine now. I don't think that will solve the cmmclow problem but maybee the curcuit breaker is tripped.

If it is fan assisted then check the fan element, it is located behind a panel at the rear of the oven compartment.

Yes it will need a new element, if the fan runs and temperature light comes on then the element is gone.

Have a Frigidare custom imperial double oven, built in, 60-70's. Bottom oven unit went out sometime ago. now my top broiler unit went out. do they still make those units???

I doubt if they still make that model, but the repair parts should be able to be found and ordered. If you can find the equipment id tag on the unit and write down the model number from it, then you can search for the parts.

Most likely you have either switch problems or the heating element and now the broiler element problems.

After putting my 10 yr. old Whirlpool Model RBD276PD double ovens thru the self cleaning cycle the bake and broiler elements in the bottom unit stopped heating. All the controls on the panel work and the...

This sounds like it blew the thermostat on the back of the lower oven. They are inexpensive and easy to replace. You will need to uninstall the unit and remove the back panel to acess. Check it for continuity if none replace. This is a fairly common failure due to the heat of the self cleaning. Here is a link to your part and diagrams are also available there AP3055316
