That's just fine your alternator keeps your battery around the same volts after you start your car.

14v is normal for charging. 12v systems are actually 13.6v systems or close. Your alternator charges at 14v and there are no problems

Testimonial: "So if it reads 14.9 v while charging should it turn it off, or isn’t it still charging"

So if it reads 14.9 v while charging should I turn it off or let it keep charging

Shouldn't be a problem. Leave it. Keep an eye on it

As above and check for excessive heat of the battery.

You have it set on automatic or manual .. If it is set for automatic the charger will cycle on and off so the battery does not charge too much. If it is manual when battery reaches charged voltage, it is time to disconnect.

up to 14 volt charging rate is normal..check battery with meter after about 4 hour charge and see if the battery has between 12 and 15 volts. Then it is good.

Battery light stays on

Batteries are difficult to test properly. They must be tested under load to determine the internal resistance... once the internal resistance is too high then you must replace the battery. Using a multimeter test the voltage. Write it down. Then turn on the headlights maybe even the radio and the blower, wipers etc (leaving the engine off) then take a voltage reading again. A charged battery should be near 14 volts readings below 12 volts shows a bad battery.

Why does my battery light come on in my '02 trail blazer

It's usually on if the alternator isn't charging. You'll have to connect a voltmeter to the battery terminals. If it reads 14 - 14.5 volts you'll have to look elsewhere. If it reads below 13 volts the charging system is not working. The alternator is quite often the problem.

My car keeps dying out, could it be the battery or alternator?

unlikely, if it starts the battery is good because it just started the car and the alternator is good because it charged the battery the prior time it was running. i would put some thought into a fuel supply problem, such as the pressure falling off rapidly after a start; or something getting hot in the ignition systrem and failing causing a loss of spark.

The battery keeps running died

bad battery or your alternator isn't supplying the recharge necessary to keep it charged, with the motor off you should have a reading of 12-12.5 volts at the battery , once started it should read between 13.5 and 14 volts if its not, Its the alternator

Driving down the highway turn lights on battery power drains (check guages light comes on) turn lights off battery continues ot charge and hold a charge. . generator? Alternator?

first of all, check voltage at battery car off should read at least 12.5 to 13 volts. now start car. at battery it should read at least 14 volts, if lower then 14 volts check alternator.

My "check charging system" keeps

first thing you should check is the battery. to do this you should buy a multimeter from a parts house and set it on volts. with car off check charge of battery. it should read 12 volts. start car and retouch red probe to positive and black probe to negitive. it should read 13 to 14 volts. if it still
reads 12 or anything below 13 volts you need to replace alternator. also check wires from alternator to see if any are loose.

Is something wrong if the reading is at 18-19? or should it read 14?

If you are talking about charging voltage, 18 or 19 is far too high and can easily damage electrical components and boil the water out of your battery. Most problems like that are the result of a grounded field wire or a bad voltage regulator. Unfortunately, the regulator is part of the computer
(would really like to meet the engineer who thought that one up). Before replacing anything make sure the battery holds a charge and can pass a load test. A bad battery can often cause the charging system to run wild.
