Click on the LG Dare display settings button and the phone resets

Please try resetting the phone but this will reset all the settings to factory default.

Steps to Reset Settings

This resets the phone to factory default settings.

1. Unlock the screen by touching Lock or pressing the Unlock Key on the left side of phone, then touch Menu to access the menu .
2. Touch the Settings & Tools icon.
3. Touch Phone Settings.
4. Touch Security.
5. Enter lock code. The default lock code is the last 4 digits of your phone number.
6. Touch Reset Default.
7. Touch OK after reading the warning message.
8. Touch Revert. A confirmation message is displayed briefly before the phone resets itself.

to reset one of these touch phones all you have to do is take out the batt and press the power button 3 times in a row put the batt back in and turn it on.

Not sure what might be going on here but I'll give it a shot.
Try using the button at the bottom of the right side of the phone to take photos. The button has a little camera icon on it.
The button is nearest to the "Hang Up" button on the front of the phone.

1 - Open the Flip
2 - Press MENU >> Then ' 0 ' [ zero ]
3 - At the Service Code prompt enter six zeros
4 - Choose option 12

Phone should REBOOT and RESET to Factory Defaults... But, if you want to go to the pre-activation stage, that's a different process...

1 - Flip Open, Press Menu
2 - Press 0 followed by 000000 [6 zeros at the Sevice Code Prompt ]
3 - Choose Option 1 [ Service Program ]
4 - Click the OK soft button [ brings you to the * Phone Number (MDN)* screen ]
5 - At that screen enter 10 zeros - to replace your current phone number
6 - Click the OK soft-button
7 - At this screen repeat step # 5
8 - Now click END

Phone will REBOOT by itself and the screen will now display " Initial programming Required " - This is what the Sales Rep sees when he/she opens the box and boots the phone the very first time to program it to your account

I thought I had this problem too, but then I realized I was pressing the lock on the side of the phone. When holding the phone sideways to get the full keyboard, the phone rests on my pinky fingers so I can type with my thumbs, and the lock button is right where my left pinky finger hits the phone. Very inconvenient, but you just have to be aware of it, maybe change the way you cradle the phone while texting.

Send me your IMEI. This is a 15digit number that you receive when you input *#06# on the phones main screen. I might be able to help you then.

I had the same problem. What you have to do is go to settings and reset your phone to defaults. It wont erase anything except your settings. So if you had a downloaded ring tone set you would just go in and change it.

Go into phone settings, then security after putting in your four digit code click on reset default. Your preference settings will be set to factory defaults and your user data will not be erased. DO NOT CLICK ON RESTORE PHONE! That will reset your phone and erase everything such as contacts and pictures.

I did not find my manual, but this worked for me. Set the clock to be a 24 hour clock by pressing and holding the Memory/Clock Adj button. The display will show 24h or 12h. Use the fast forward button to change from 12h to 24h. Press the Memory/Clock Adj button again and use the fast or reverse forward buttons to change the time to read, for example, 13:00 instead of 1:00 if the time is 1pm. Press the Memory/Clock Adj button again to set the minutes.When you are done setting the time, press and hold the Timer/Sleep button. Either a time or "0:00" will appear in the display with the word "TIMER" flashing above it. Quickly press and hold the Memory/Clock Adj button until the first digit in the time starts flashing. Set the hour that you wish the alarm to sound using the fast or reverse forward buttons, just like you do for setting the time. Press the Memory/Clock Adj button again to set the minutes, and one more time to finish. The word "TIMER" will stop flashing and go solid, and the display will return to the time of day. When the alarm sounds, you can hit Snooze which will give you 5 more minutes, or you can turn the Clock Radio off. Pressing the Timer/Sleep button again will turn off the timer (alarm) and pressing and holding it again after that will turn it back on.
