Craftsman riding mower 2003 DLT 3000 ,Blowing oil out of the fuel

Carb needs cleaning and possible rebuild. Very common problem especially with ethanol gas.

if it has a fuel pump , overhaul the pump or replace it
otherwise replace the fuel hose to the carby/filter

Might need to change the fuel filter

sounds like the choke mechanism is stuck in closed position, causing a overly rich mixture, to check this removethe air filter cover, element and housing, there are two nuts and a 5/16 head screw somewhere that need to come off too, then pull off housing and you will be able to see the choke plate, it should only be closed when throttle lever is all the way up. when you determine if this is the pronlem or not you can email me if you want

assuming that you are working on a briggs engine? regardless of make what the problem is that the needle and seat inside the carb is not sealing off the fuel flow from the fuel pump/fuel tank or both......gravity feed fuel systems are the worst about flooding, the only fix will be a carburetor repair with needle and seat replacement

Turn off fuel and do not try to start because it can shear flywheel key or catch fire.It sounds as if the float needle is not seating {closing}properly and must be cleaned or needle/seat replaced.Check to see if fuel has raised oil level on dipstick,if so you must change oil as well as the oil filter.

check fuel line for colapse near frame rail common problem ? new hose from tank to fuel filter will fix it

pour alittle bit in carb & if it starts then it could be the fuel pump or the fuel lines

If it starts cold and runs for 10 min then it sounds like the fuel cap is not venting properly, try runnin engine with fuel cap loose and see if it dies. 9 times out of 10 the fuel cap is the culprit. Let me know
