SOURCE: Replacement watch batteries

When you buy your watch the manufacture puts in a battery that is made to last 5 years so that the watch can sit on the shelf and not need the battery changed before you have even bought it. Batteries you buy from a store or a watchrepair usually last about 1.5 years. Sometimes you can find a watchmaker who carries the five year batteries, but most people don't want to pay the $25-$30 to have it installed so most places won't carry them for rear they will never sell.I would also tell you NOT to buy your batteries from a grocery store or a Wallgreens type place because those batteries could have been sitting there for months, or even over a year. If you go to a watch repair they go through so many batteries that almost evey time you are getting a fresh battery.

SOURCE: I need a sector watch expert.

There are no bad motions for watches - they are designed to withstand all motions, except very hard knok/hit.
You do not need a Sector watch expert, as all watch brands use movements made by few manufacturers and all decent watchmakers know them from A to Z. Only very expensive watch manufacturers produce their own in-house movements - Sector is not in that league.
Contact that shop and ask for full explanation what and why went wrong.

I bought this watch 1.5 years back.I have started using that.It worked properly. For the last few months I didn't wear it.Now the watch is not working. So the problem is in the battery ?

On average, I've found that analog wristwatches that use a silver oxide (or alkaline) battery last about a year after a fresh battery has been installed. Digital watches, because they have no moving parts, will typically last longer on a set of batteries if you're not using the alarm or backlight function. Watches that use lithium batteries generally last two years or more between battery changes.

Based on your model watch, I would guess that your battery has run down too far to power the movement. A fresh battery will probably fix your watch. Hint: in the future, if you aren't going to wear your watch for a while, pull the stem out into the "set" position. That will stop the movement and extend the life of your battery. When you want to wear the watch, simply set the time (and date, if you have a date window) and push the stem back in.

I have a Tissot PR 50 Chrono,,, I have replaced the battery 3 times in the past two years. Then it got to where the second hand only would run. Now, nothing. If I hold the lower button in, the second hand...

When a battery is replaced, but doesn't last long, that indicates an internal electrical problem with your watch. The fact that the hands are operating incorrectly is also an indicator that something has shorted out inside the watch. I wish whomever sold you batteries 2 & 3 knew what they were doing!
As the Tissot is a fairly expensive, quality watch, I would suggest finding a locally-owned, high-end jeweler to recommend a watch repair shop, or alternatively, go online and Google "Tissot repair" to find an authorized repair shop. Good luck! Sorry I couldn't help you.

How long should a watch battery last? I bought my

It is hard to say how long a battery should last without knowing the details of the model.

If it is just a timepiece without any additional functions, then a battery should last at least one year and often will run for two or three.

If there are other functions e.g stop watch, back light, memory, alarm etc., then the life of the battery will depend upon the extent to which these functions are used. How long is a piece of string?

If you think that the battery failing, then take it back to the supplier and ask for a replacement, (if you have the receipt).

How to replaced a eco drive battery

The ECO series of Citizen's do not require battery replacement, as they are solar powered. If the watch stops due to a long period of non-use, there is a procedure in the manual as well as the Citizen website on how to get it running again. You will have to expose it to light for several hours (but not with lots of heat such as a car dash) to get it running. If you continue to have trouble, you may have a problem with the watch. I bought my wife a ladies ECO drive about 8 years ago and bought one for myself about 2 years ago and have not had a bit of problems with either. They are extremely good watches and it is nice not to have to worry about "when will the battery die?"

My seiko kinetic watch stops working overnight but it is fine whilst wearing it

Further to the previous solution...
Despite Seiko's claims regarding never having to change the 'battery', the power storage unit or ECU in Seiko-speak (not technically a 'battery') does eventually need replacing. From the symptoms you describe, it sounds as if the 'battery' on this watch is on its last legs as it is no longer charging properly. The good news is that it doesn't have to be an expensive job to have it replaced (providing you avoid going through the local jeweller <==> Seiko chain!). There are companies on the Internet who offer a replacement 'battery' service. I've used one in the past and was very satisfied with both the cost and the good service. A Google Search will probably return a choice of several in your country. Btw, if you have had your Seiko Kinetic for a few years, its probably worth paying a bit more and having it overhauled (clean and oil the movement and replace the watertight seals) at the same time.
