Tappan Electrolux Microwave Oven Model TMV151FS will run for about 5 minutes then gets steamy inside and shuts itself off for next 30-60 minutes. There is a vent that says open close that we thought was the problem because it doesn’t move. We took that part off to adjust it. Felt like a little mother in there & it turns but doesn’t show open or closed.

Accumulating steam is usually caused by the fan not operating or the vents are blocked.

Testimonial: "Where is this fan located?"

  • Chuck Dec 04, 2017

    Usually inside,at the right rear.

SOURCE: Door latches to microwave broken

I assume you're talking about the spring that keeps tension on the door hooks (latch heads, as they're called by Sharp). When you shut the door, the "hooks" are held down by this spring to actuate the door switches. To fix this, you'll have to separate the door panels. You can download the service manual from my Web site. There's a loop built into the latch head assembly and sometimes the loop breaks. If so, you can drill a tiny hold in it and reattach the spring there. There may also be a loop on the innner door panel to hold the spring. That one can break, too. If it's broken, you'll have to find a way to secure the spring to the panel. If the panel material is thick enough, a tiny screw eye could be inserted, then epoxied overnight to secure it. I've attached a diagram to this message that should help you. If that doesn't help you, I have the service manual for the R1600-series microwaves on my Web site at: http://www.microwavedisplay.com/R1610.pdf Repost if you need more help.

SOURCE: Front vent on JMV8208A Jenn-Air Over-the-range microwave hood keeps opening

There may be an option to turn that off with the keypad, but your best bet would be to contact Jenn-Air.

The manual will have their contact info or you can see: http://www.jennair.com/content.jsp?name=contact_us

You can download the owner's manual and installation manual here:

SOURCE: Tappan TMV151FS over range microwave starts to work and then dies

Never run the microwave without a load (something to heat)!!! That kills the microwave generating parts.

Sounds like a 'thermal' protect switch is activating after running. Make sure that (if the unit is mounted in a cabinet) that there is sufficient space around the unit for proper air flow and that nothing is blocking the vents. Try setting it on a counter top and heat something. If it works properly and doesn't shut off, the venting space is the problem. You may have to have the cabinet that it sits in redesigned for more clearance.

Tappan Electrolux tmv151fs microwave/rangehood. turntable and cavity light intermittent (but work/fail in unison), all else work ok

Either a wiring problem or worn contacts on the relay that powers the two would be possibilities.

Electrolux wall mount micro wave oven combo doesn't work

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Electrolux wall mount microwave oven combo is not working. I see that the oven is working, but the microwave is not. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and try any setting. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. If further troubleshooting is needed, please provide me with the model number of your air conditioner. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

My Tappan TMV151FS MIROWAVE OVEN DOES NOT WORK THE MESSAGE READS (SE) IN THE LCD WINDOW CAN'T LOCATE MY OWNERS MANUAL CAN YOU GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION ON THIS PROBLEM THANK YOU LEO LAFLER

"SE" means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

The most economical repair (and a pretty simple one) is to replace your entire controller assembly.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Model TMV151FBA is black and model TMV151FSA is white.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

You would order one of these here:

PART DESCRIPTION COST
5304456080 Control Box, assembly, black $145.14
5304456081 Control Box, assembly, white $149.42

Total power loss during use

Check the voltage on the outlet, make sure it is 115v -- 122volts max, any less will cause it shut off, make sure the polarity off the outlet is correct and it is grounded, check all of your wiring connections, if all this is ok replace unit with a different unit or different supplier of unit
