Try uninstalling drivers switching off pc and restarting and re-installing latest driver .Make sure you have disabled onboard sound in your bios if you have only just installed the card.

The speaker icon on my laptop says that no audio output device is installed and i have no idea why ive plugged in headphones but still have no sound

Evidently you have uninstalled the driver for your audio system. I would go to Toshiba's support site and look for driver updates for your model and then download the correct free audio driver. Download it, go to that folder and run the setup or install file for it. Here is the URL for their support page:

http://support.toshiba.com/drivers

Enter your model number in the window in the middle of the page.

Good luck.

When i start computer a option appear on the screen audio device on high defination audio bus but i have alredy installed m- Audio sound card & its Driver Also. Please solve my Problem.

first tell me is your audio is working or not? For some high definition audio drivers it also require universal audio architecture. I think your audio chipset is also related to thats.

check in device manager in sound section. for go to device manager open run and type "devmgmt.msc" and check. If any device is there with yellow mark means that driver is not loaded properly not only in sound section check all devices because if the driver is not recognized as sound device then it show as unknown device.
tell me which motherboard you are using.based on that i can help u.

Hello!I have a P4i65GV motherboard.I downloaded the sound drivers from ASRock website and installed the c-media audio driver..it worked!but after I restarted my computer and while I was usin it suddenly...

Suggest you download a free program called Ccleaner, click on the link below; http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner
Uninstall the sound driver software through control panel. Load Ccleaner and click on the registry icon. Run the cleaner than reboot the system. Reinstall the sound driver software; C-Media audio driver ver: 0.46
Provided by Asrock for MB P4i65GV; http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=P4i65GV&o=XP
Keeping windows registry clean from old keys and double keys that are no longer being used keeps windows running smoothly. If sound continues to stop working it is possible the audio chip is going bad. A work around would be to disable the audio in the bios. Buy a PCI audio card and add it to you're system. (It wouldn't hurt to test you're speakers on another system just to be safe).

My laptop has no sound

Please add more details but I can suggest,
Control Panel > Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices > Sounds and Audio Devices, and try to change your default device to Realtek HD Audio Output. If that doesn't work restart your computer (if your audio only stopped working today)

My sound is not working. Says correct driver is installed for Realtek HD Audio but I get message: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)." Also, I think it is related as my sound stopped working when I...

Actually you are not completely install your Realtek HD Audio. Continue to install with that "unknown device on high definition audio bus"by using your TOSHIBA Utility Disc you have. Let the system search the driver from the CD/DVD inserted. Then follow the instruction to complete your sound installation.
Tell us more what next is the problem unresolved but i'm sure that is works.
Hope this might help you.
Good luck!

No sound from speakers anymore

Open your controll panel & open Sound & audio devices. Click the Audio tab. Is there a audio device listed? Click on the Voice tab, is the same device listed there? Next open the System icon click on the Hardware tab than click the device manager button. Scroll down to Sound, video & game controller. Do you see a yellow ! point? If you did see a device listed in both Audio & Voice. That is OK. If you saw a yellow ! in device manager. Reinstall your audio software from youe motherboard CD. Lastly try another speaker system. If still no sound than your intergrated sound chip is defective. RMA the board through ASUS it has a three yyear warranty. You can call tech first and get a case number at 812-282-2787. Than ask to be transfered to the RMA dept.
