I have Hitachi 55hds69 plasma tv that is getting green and red sparkles on the screen. is there adjustment that can be make to correct this?

I have Hitachi 55hds69 plasma tv that is getting green and red sparkles on the screen. I've read that you could adjust various pots on some broads to help with this. On my model there is only Vs and Va (the is also a overload protect and power factor pots) pots available to adjust and are located on the power supply board. The v-sus and x-sus boards have no adjustments available on them. Adjusting the Va and Vs pots only help marginally..am I out of luck? is my tv destine for the dumpster?

There should be a label on the inside of the cabinet saying what the voltages to the VS and VA should be along with any other voltages that are adjustable, have you set the various voltages to the correct specs

Testimonial: "Yes, I have set the Va & Vs to the exact voltages ( to a 1/10th of a volt).Actually, they where pretty much spot on already."

use the advanced options page and reset the factor blue and red convergence defaults then do re apply the auto color defaults color at first it seemed very red (which is good because red was the missing factor in the green picture) but after reseting all the color and tints to the normal ranges I then reset the color auto correct again and all seems fine.

Issue occurs due to malfuntion of LCD Module matrix. Seeking assistance from a qualified hands on technician adviceable. There are 2 major possibility First LCD module connectors might stained/loosen due to environmental causes such as humidity. Secon important possibility one of the driver Chip on LCD has stopped working. First possibility usually lower cost for repair. A further hands on diagnostic on LCD module will clarify best better.

SOURCE: hitachi 50v500a high definition tv

I had whole redish/pinkish screen on my 50v500 starting a few days ago, then I read through each of the threads on this site for the samilar problems on my model. I found TVtechmaniac's solution (pasted below) solved my problem. Thank you TVtechmaniac!

Enter the I2C Service Menu, be sure the power is OFF.
1. On the front control panel, press and hold the INPUT button.
2. Then press the POWER button for two seconds.
3. You may keep the INPUT button depressed until you see the OSD with the Service Menu displayed.
4. If you don't see the service menu, please repeat Process making sure you wait until the Power blinking LED stops.
5. Execute the Memory Initialize operation after the adjustment values have been written on a sheet of paper. Highlight “MEMORY INTI”, arrow to the right and hold the button to the right (approx 5 sec.) until a check mark appears in the box. This activates the Memory Initialization.

6. After the Memory initialize operation has finished (10~15 sec, the channel will revert to CH 3.) the pink image symptom should be fixed.
7. Write back the adjustment values from your notes to their respective adjustment parameters in the adjustment mode. (In other words, set the Data Values back to the the Data values written down before the Memory Initialization procedure). NOTE: Make sure the SELECT Button is pressed on remote after every change to the values. Failure to do so will result in the data values not being changed.
8. Exit I2C menu. Press exit repeatedly until you go back to the normal picture.
9. Turn the set off-on and Confirm the picture remains in a good condition.
BE SURE TO COPY DOWN DATA SETTINGS BEFORE INITIALIZING I2C SETTINGS

The easy way to fix this: Click 'Menu' on your remote. Then click 'Setup'. Next, you will have to select 'Screen Position Setup'. This will open a screen that allows you to adjust your TV screen position simply by using the arrow keys on your remote. If your TV is anything like mine, this will work.

Black screen when turn the TV on, but still has audio

The TV is either a dud or your video cable isnt plugged into the right spot. HDMI would not be an issue as it puts audio and video in the same cable. But for Component the Red White Yellow and Green Blue Red for HD can easily be mixed up. Verify that you have plugged the right cables into the correct place. Refer to your user manual. Also note that if you have checked and indeed they are in correctly, try a different input port. If those do not fix the issue id recommend contacting the place you bought it to get either a refund or replacement item if it is still under warranty.

This happened to me with my first Hitachi 55" plasma. It ended up being the panel itself, which was very expensive to fix. Thankfully mine was under warranty and I was able to get a replacement TV.

Black out?!?!?

I finally got information from the repair shop. Apparently it is the upper and lower panel drive. The parts are supposedly not more than a couple hundred dollars, though I'll let you know when I get the bill. I do want to say that Hitachi was great when I called them. Even though my plasma is out of warranty by a few months, they agreed to pay for parts if I pay for labor. That just might keep me buying Hitachi products despite the issues I've had with my 2 plasmas.
