You don't say what kind of computer you have.
If it's a desktop (tower) computer look at the rear edge of the side panel. Usually, the side panel wraps around on to the rear panel slightly, and there should be a couple of screws you can loosen which will allow you to slide the side backward a little then lift it off. Take the computer outdoors if possible and use a can of compressed air to blow out the dust. Be sure to spray at the fans and especially at the fan and heatsink fins of the cpu (and the graphics card if one is installed).
Replace the side panel and tighten the screws to complete the job.
There are many videos on Youtube that will show you how to do this!

If computer case tower housing you normally remove screws around perimeter at back then slide the covers back a little bit to unhook from chassis.
If not please elaborate.

Need to clean fan ,all fasteners removed ,can't remove clips on expandable end of fan

mcdevito75 here, Believe it or not, I use a good quality spray cleaner like Mr. Clean, a spray that removes dirt and then you wipe clean, I use the sray, let it soak, then with a garden hose clean it off. The fan motors are sealed so you don"t have to worry too much of water in the motors, still don't direct the water hose stream directly onto the fan motors, also allow the fan to dry real good, out in the sun. I never had a problem with mine useing this technique of cleaning.

How to clean blades and/or how to remove fan cover for cleaning

I am certainly not an expert on this field; yet i have done this my self and this is what i did:

MOst fans have clips.
check where the from and back pieces attach. there should be several clips there remove them and voila.

if not there possibly check the centre pice of fan this may have a screw that holds front and back pieces together as well.

Pllease note you will also have to remove the legs from the side of fan as well. if the pic is the same one you have
Hope this helps

Ceaning inside of fan

With a little more detail on how to clean the 84001. There are 2 screws at the top of the unit on the back side and 1 on the bottom with a small removable cover. Remove those screws and the cover can be removed.
There will be some resistance towards the middle because of 2 clips on both sides. Be carefull not to pull too hard on the ends ; possibility of breaking the cover. Try pressing on center of the cover on one side of the edge.
There are 2 screws holding a bracket that holds the top of the fan. Remove those screws. Then on the bottom there is a shaft that attaches to the motor. You will find a set screw that you need to loosen. When you loosen and remove squirrel cage you will notice a flat spot on shaft. That is where the set screw is to be put when assembling the fan back together.
After cleaning just follow the steps back to assemble your 84001 and enjoy a clean brisk breeze. I hope this helps explain in more detail on how to clean it.
