Many trucks have a ground wire in the harness as the cabins are fibre glass or not grounded around the cabin mounts If the radio grounds out through the frame , then there would be no ground for the radio or the aerial wire
to fit this particular may require such a wire in the harness for the radio which it probably doesn't have
As you have been alerted to a problem, it would be advisable to talk with professional radio fitters who work on trucks to get the correct advice before starting on the job
it could save a lot of frustration
SOURCE: trying to hook up a cobra 29 but keep blowing inline fuse
I had the same problem with a 25 that was just disconnected for replacement. I found a shorted diode right where the power cord came in. I also didn't like the way the electrolytic capacitor right next to it was charging so I changed it also.
Problem solved.
I am sure the 29 will have a similar setup. I you want I will look up my schematicof a 29 and tell you the numbers to check.
Of course it is also possible somehow too much voltage was applied to the radio. In which case the previous repairs will almost surely be needed.
I hope this helped, Good luck

to cut down on noise i would hook it directly to the battery. make sure there is a fuse in the power cord first.

SOURCE: radio code ( 98 Volvo S70)
Look in the manual for the code - usually someone has written it in there. If not, call the nearest Volvo dealership and give them the VIN - they can tell you what your code is. Then, with the engine off, turn the key to the "I" position (Roman numeral one) and leave it for at least 4 hours. The radio should then read "Code. and you can enter the 4 digit number! Good Luck!
SOURCE: Connex 4600 Turbo
Every tech. knows and every Connex owner Knows that once a Connex has been peaked and tuned and also had any mods done to it that the stock microphone that comes with it will not work as it should and then you will have bad feed back!! The best solution for this is buy a good Noise canceling microphone!! Such as an RK-56 or an Astatic 636-L Noice canceling microphone!! This usually will correct most of tghe feedback if not all of it!! And it will also let you keep most of your Mic gain turned uo too.
