It seems your hard drive got corrupted for some unknown reason. You could try RePicvid Free Photo Recovery to restore the movies and try to fix the drive.
Run file recovery software on it.
It's not a real recording ??

i fixed this exactly as previous posted solutions, however a couple of points.
a) recordable CDs work if you don't have a DVD burner.
b) I didn't have a CD burner that would do an "image burn", I downloaded a free copy of "Express Burn" and that worked fine. The disk needs to be "finalised" or "fixated", it should do this automatically, or it may be a tick box selection.
c) I got a "No DWLD 09" when I put the disk into the player. I found this was an incompatibility with the CD-R (Maxwell) I was using. I changed to JVC and it worked fine.

As both Western Digital and Iomega have not made much news about these two devices, I had not realized they existed. They would be the best solution for you. Just make sure you convert the video into the correct format.

the problem is that your western digital operates using the NTFS (New Technology File System) which is the standard file system of Windows. Apple macs is not interopable with native NTFS therefore you need to install a read-write NTFS file-system driver on your mac.
an excellent free mac NTFS driver can be found here-
http://mac.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/NTFS-3G.shtml
download and install the software then restart your mac.

I'm sorry you won't work - is this a political statement, or merely a lack of interest in obtaining gainful employment ?
