SOURCE: how to bypass lid lock control on kenmore elite oasis type 581 washer model 110.28032701

there isn't any way to bypass this type of lid switch as in the old 2 wire type lid switches,as the 5 wire type lid switch you have has to be connected to the control board located behind the control panel,it has to see the lid is closed and sends a magnetic signal to the control board to start the wash cycle

Yes. Snip the wires at both sides of the switch. Then fuse the wires together with electrical tape. But before you do that...you state it's a 2011 model? It should still be under warranty.

The only way to bypass this switch is fist pill the plug, gain access to the switch from under the hood. put a jumper wire on the 2 wires on the switch. that will do it. I hope this helps you out.

you can also check to see if the timer motor is good. not a good idea to bypass. if the presure switch was bad it would not stop filling up.

How to bypass lid lock so washer will run?

You don't. Bypassing a lid-lock is careless verging on plain wrong. The door will likely blast open when the machine is full of water and flood your home, a child could crawl inside and get hurt while the unit is running, and thirdly: lid locks are not a simple affair that can be jumpered with a single wire. Just buy the new lid-lock and skip the disaster!

Maytag bravos x lid lock overide or bypass

Washer not starting Cycle:
I would have to slam the washer lid before the washer recognized the lid was shut.
What I did to fix:
1. Ref the link below for Schematics
http://blog.kennyluong.com/Tricking-A-Maytag-Bravos-Washer/
2. Looking at the Lid Lock section of the Schematic:
Place a jumper between pins 2 and 3 of J15
This engages the 1st switch (Lid switch) so, I don't have to slam the lid anymore
3. Since my Lock switch (2nd switch), which is engaged with a magnetic, is working, my work is done.
If you find that your machine is still not starting the cycle after jumpering pins 2 and 3, you will need to replace the Lid Lock mechanism or ref the above link for temp bypass.
