To kill the engine, you should connect te yellow/black wire to ground ( thru the switch of course)
The easyest is to take the wires at the ignition key.

check the seal at the pick up tube. If you have a strong water pressure at the tell tail, no need to worry it is normal.

Get a outboard sea foam from walmart or local parts store. Mix with gas and oil should help it if it doesn't I would recommend take the whole thing apart and clean it. Check lines to see if clogged etc.

Hi Terry..When were the spark plugs replaced in it last?.it could be a nice easy fix if it has a dodgy spark plug in it..Other option is to check plug leads for cracks & coil casings for cracks as well..

I'd be looking for corrosion at the rotating bushing. There should be grease nipples to get lube into it. Grease, and lots of moving it should loosen it up.
