Hi, my name is derek and my frigidaire dishwasher model FGHD2433KF1 front panel reads Er s and clean. we hardly use it. how can i fix it?

Frigidaire Dishwasher Error Code = ER
Error Problem / Condition = Membrane Switch Failure
Check / Repair / Solution = Main Control Board has detected a stuck key or a key pressed for more than one minute. Check connection from keypad to Main Control Board. If correct, replace keypad. If error still exist, replace Main Control Board.

It could be thinking you are pressing a button for too long.
Try the above link answer for reset.
Or unfortunately it can be a shorted keypad.

I understand that your Frigidaire dishwasher is displaying error code "S" and will not restart. The error code "S" usually stands for sanitize, this could also be a miscommunication within the control panel. I would recommend performing a reset on your dishwasher and you can do that by disconnecting power from your dishwasher for roughly ten minutes. rlindaur179,There are a couple possible issues. We will start with the easy ones first.
1. There is a round shape float on the inside floor of the dishwasher.On this mode I believe it is in the front left. please check to see this float moves easily up and down. If there is any build up it could getting stuck in the upright position this can cause a reset in the cycle. Clean the float shaft. Lift float and clean shaft (steel wool works well)2. Replace control board

However, before replacing the keypad you can unplug it and take it apart completely and use a hair dryer to blow some warm air on the keypad assembly to blow the moisture off. However, before replacing the keypad you can unplug it and take it apart completely and use a hair dryer to blow some warm air on the keypad assembly to blow the moisture off but again doing this will void warranty so decide if you want to get this done under warranty or you want to do it yourself. It is in a delay wash mode.
Disconnect power for 60 seconds.
Re-connect power.
Press the Cancel button.
Press the regular wash cycle and start the dw.

Blinking display with "ER S" on this model is a "keypad error" NOT a control board error. It occurrs when a button on the keypad is "stuck" for more than a minute most likely from being corroded - which can happen when the steam accumulates on the underside of the counter and drops down onto keypad (an apparent design flaw which frigidaire will do nothing about) - all the techs I've talked to recommend replaceing the entire plastic keypad assembly (oem part cost $125 at my local store). But they sell just the switch that is glued into the assembly for 16$ at www.repairclinic.com and it is a thin plastic film with electronic circuits running through it. Before you buy it though, turn power off at breaker, then try gently prying the keypad switch cover (the strip with the buttons on it) off of the top of the door panel (It is stuck down with a double sided clear tacky strip - I did it with a thin butter knife) and cleaning off any corrosion on underside of strip and on switch. Gently replace the keypad cover strip and press down around the edges gently. Then turning power back on to machine and see if that fixes it - worked for me - FREE!!! Worth trying before you call out a tech

VO is vent sticking open, in top of tub upper right. You may be able to clean if not replace it.

Probably a control panel failure. This unit does not ventfrom the front like most do, so there needs to be some clearance above the top of the tub to avoid blocking the vent fan, otherwise moisture gets trapped in the machine and works it's way into the control panel eventually.
